Description:

I love making desserts! For this swap, make a beautiful recipe card with your favourite from-scratch dessert recipe on it. If you don't bake but would still like to join, borrow a recipe from a friend or choose one from a reputable source like a well-reviewed online site or from a good cookbook. This recipe is intended to be displayed so make it sturdy by backing it with some sort of board (box board is fine) and no worries about it being too thick to fit in a recipe box, book or file. You can make it a wall-hanging style if you wish. No maximum size but minimum 4x6".

Be sure to consider the Somerset shabby or vintage style when creating. The recipe ingredients and directions may be either carefully and clearly handwritten or printed out using a nice font on good quality paper. No copy paper please.

If you have an absolutely massive dislike of a typical dessert ingredient or allergies, list them below. Please check the comments before making your card. But the main idea is to create art so don't be too picky.

*Please use a minimum 3 shabby or vintage embellishments on the main area of your cards. I highly recommend flowers, lace, fancy brads, pearls, doilies, buttons, punched paper strips, twine, ribbon and vintage ephemera (real or high quality reproduction) etc as some of your embellishments. Shabby up your work with distressing, paint or inking is also a great idea. You must use ALL quality items to make this card.

*If you use rubber stamping, please stamp cleanly; missed areas, smudges or double lines are not acceptable.

*Please check your partner's profile and avoid dislikes both in colour and theme. You may make this profile based if you wish.

*Please do not use computer generated images or sentiments because I have been very disappointed by images printed in very poor quality lately. (If you print them well using very good quality paper and ink, your partner won’t know and can’t rate you badly for it can they?? Wink wink!) And no magazine cut outs.

*Please make a beautiful card you are proud of and would be thrilled to receive.

*Make sure your work is clean and precise. No glue should show and straight cuts need to be straight. Colouring needs to look adult, not like a child did it. Please don't be discouraged by these rules. I am only referring to general tidy work, not tiny flaws.

*Please have a 4.97+ rating to join and no 1's EVER or 3's in the last 6 months. I will accept explanations of course, PM me ahead of the sign up deadline. Newbies are welcome with WELL FILLED out profiles (About Me, Likes, Dislikes at least) and MUST PM me at least 3 days before the end of the swap to show good intentions. A newbie is someone with less than 5 completed and rated type 2 or 3 swaps. If you see a flaker has joined, don't worry, I will weed them out but there shouldn't be any on a group like this! If you are really worried, give me a heads up! I’ve been flaked on so many times, I've stopped keeping track, so I get it!

I dislike papaya, mango and mint in desserts.

I would welcome anything sugar free or vegan no fruit and no anise please

Hi @wickedred thanks for joining. While I understand your preferences, omitting dairy, eggs, lard, gelatin, fruit and sugar is a lot considering these are dessert recipes! I hope your partner can find something to suit you but you can't expect that. You must rate a 5 even if they can't. Remember, this is mainly about the art.

my only huge desire is no fruit and no anise otherwise im easy to please

Not a big fan of chocolate. Actively dislike citron, lemon and raisins. Otherwise, surprise me!

I'm a little put off by the all the swap "musts" so I am dropping even though I have made my card. After rereading the requirements, I realize I made my card the standard 4X6 large recipe card size. I know you want to have a great swap, but this is a vetted group in the first place- sorry

lilspotteddog there are alot of requirements to this swap, I don't know if I will join since I like to do mine digitally but it definately sounds fun :) The 4x6 size is a minimum so it sounds like yours would be fine.
