Coronation Street ATCs

I am a faithful watcher of Coronation Street but wonder if I can come up with something to put on an ATC to reflect that show. Can you make some suggestions?

Incidentally, I met Wendi Peters (the actress who plays Cilla) when she made a personal appearance at the British Show in Hamilton ON in November 2007. She is delightful in real life - nothing like the nasty Cilla character. Even Cilla's accent is a put on.

An idea that I've been thinking about is using those great charactures I've seen of Corrie characters over the years (The ones they always use on mugs and magnets and stuff) and then creating a suitable background and embellishments.

I also thought about trying to find tacky wallpaper to use, or painting a building from the Street.

I always want to go to the British Show! But the one year that I went down, the weather was freezing and the line-up to get in was just ridiculous. Are you a Hamiltonian? I saw a Corrie special awhile back where they had the actors performing songs, and Wendi was fabulous!

When you tried to get in, was that by any chance last February when Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs)was the featured Corrie star? I was a vendor at that show and let me tell you, it was nuts. Every time he entered the hall to do a speech and to sign autographs, the crowd went wild, as if he was a rock star. I know they had to turn people away. Due to safety regulations, they could only let so many in at a time.

I live 15 minutes north of Uxbridge ON. I saw that special too with Wendi singing.

I will have to think about it some more and if I can come up with an idea, I will join your swap.

Yeah, it was that one! I'll have to try to go to the next one now that I know it isn't always like that :P (I'm always trying to find Jelly Babies, my all time favourite British candy)

I have grown up watching Corrie, my parents have watched it for decades now. This will be fun. I am new to ATC, this will be my first ones, however I think I have a handle on how to make them and have plenty of Corrie things to use. :-)
