Tanka is a wonderful form of short poetry. Japanese in origin, it is often written in 5-7-5-7-7 syllable form.

For this swap, send your partner 5 tanka by snail mail. The theme is open and does not need to be limited to nature. Also include a short introduction about yourself, your poetry, and any reflections on writing the tanka you have included. Tanka for this swap must be in the 5-7-5-7-7 format.

Please use stamps on the envelope, not the ugly postal print out sticker!
