Create a postcard

a sheet of 8.5x11 card stock cut into quarters makes 5.5x4.25 cards (perfectly acceptable by the USPS), can we do that size and not waste paper or must it be 6x4?

It needs to be 6x4 or larger for this swap. I'll seek input from the group for any future swaps.

so i can't draw a picture it has to be a photo or a picture taken from a magazine or newspaper? No embellishments would make a very dull postcard in my opinion.

Taidg - if you pick the right picture it could be pretty cool, that's the idea I would think, find a picture that makes a great postcard w/o needing to be embellished, I like it!

i have a catalog with really pretty food pictures, they are quite a but smaller than the required size, but grouped together on the page, if i cut out a full grouping (~ 3 related photos) it would fit nicely onto the card, may i do this?

For this swap ...just one picture not a group of pictures. There are some great pictures out there that would outdo any preprinted postcard. I have pared this one down to the simplest elements for a handmade postcard. If you don't like the requirements or don't have something suitable you don't have to join the swap

that's cool, i have some good single ones i can use, but i really liked the food ones too, so i wanted to check.

It will be hard not embellishing it, but it's a fun concept. The picture will need to speak for itself.

@2012ash the picture needs to completely cover the card with no border, I hope you can find one that fits.
