Description:

Hi everyone! I love any excuse to look through my postcard collection. It's especially fun to look for specific cards to send to people.

For this swap, you will send 5 postcards to one person. You will send:

  • A postcard with a person on it

  • An Ad/Free Card

  • A postcard showing a place you would like to visit

  • A multiview postcard

  • A vintage postcard

These postcard will be sent in an envelope, blank, unwritten on.

Newbies are allowed to join, but please have a well-filled out profile. More than just a few sentences. I want to be able to see that you're serious about sending and that you're not going to flake.

I'm not able to angel for this swap, I'm sorry.

question- where do you get the free/ad cards? i have honestly never seen one, but i hear all about them on swap-bot!

digitalmaven 08/25/2012 #

Raksava: Sometimes people will leave them in cafes, though I usually just see bits of paper when I look. Also, businesses, libraries, museums, or other places will sometimes have them available.

I've gotten free cards through various swaps here on SwapBot. Also, my town has companies that mail them out to advertise their businesses. You could try visiting some local businesses and see if they have any on the counter for you to take.

Also, movie advertisements come in postcard form on occasion, usually older movies.

I'm new, an wanted to inquire: What exactly are multiview cards?

BassClarinetNerd 08/27/2012 #

@Aliviara A multiview postcard is a card that shows more than one view. For example, a postcard from Kentucky may be split into four pictures: A horse in the Kentucky Derby, a waterfall, a plantation house, and a farm. All of these pictures are on one card.

Question also...by 'vintage', do you mean literally an OLD card OR just a vintage 'look"?

BassClarinetNerd 08/28/2012 #

The picture on the card should be vintage/old. I would say 1980's or earlier. Not really too "vintage" but still over 30 years old. Showing an old landmark or location or even person from the past.

I would like to join but it's just the time of my travelling. I hope there will be a next time!

@Elisabeth I will definitely be doing this type of search again. What to search for will change each time, of course.
