Description:

I have recently become addicted to creating origami boxes. They are VERY cheap to make and REALLY easy. I found them via a craft video on YouTube, so I will link that video here for anyone who doesn't know how to make them.

The only supplies you will need are your hands and a sheet of paper - computer paper, origami paper, or scrapbook paper all seem to work just fine (I trim my scrapbook paper down to A4 size). If you wanted to tie yours off with ribbon, stamp it, put stickers on it... you can do whatever you want to decorate it!

When you send your box to your partner there should be a note and a surprise of some kind inside, whether it be stickers, some ribbon, a key chain, an ATC... whatever you would like to put in it to surprise your partner.

You will have one partner, and I am making it an international swap because it is such a light/small project, it really shouldn't cost much more than a normal letter to send, unless you put a rock in as a surprise :)

I am asking that you have no less than a 4.5 rating--I will create a box for anyone if someone does flake. However, PLEASE don't join if you don't think you can do it because I don't want to get stuck making 30 of these things! :) I would also prefer if you had at least 5 previous type 2 and 3 swaps.

The link to the instructional video is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IHyUMft6Bw

Hope we find some origami lovers out there!! :)

Thanks!

Does it have to be the box from that video or can you do a different paper folding? I do one that doesn't make a box per say, but you can add surprises to it.

That's fine! As long as it's a folded paper with a note and a surprise in it, I'm sure it's basically the same concept :)

I'm assuming we put the origami box inside of a regular envelope when we send it, right?

Thanks for hosting this swap, I already made my box because I'm so excited! :)

It should fit into a normal envelope, but again that depends on how bulky the surprise inside is. Either way I'm sure it won't take much to send it!!

I'm so excited to see so many people signed up!! Can't wait to hear about all the boxes!! :)

Sent a message to all swappers who have not sent out their packages yet - tomorrow is the last day, I hope everyone is starting to get theirs in the mail! I just got mine today and loved it! Let us know how it turns out! :)
