Description:

Frida Kahlo is known for her many self-portraits... Let's take inspiration from her and make ATCs with our own self portraits! You are free to use whatever medium you wish-- pencil, acrylics, collage, watercolor, printmaking, photography, mixed media, etc, but please make an effort to truly create a self portrait. Let's really put the "Art" into the "A" of ATC. No pressure though, just do your best. I know we all can't be Fridas. :)

For this swap you will make 1 ATC for 1 partner. Make sure your ATC is standard sized (2.5 inches x 3.5 inches) and has a sturdy back (card stock, cardboard, etc). Don't forget to sign and date your work and include your id and swap name. No sticker slapping.

Have fun and be creative.

Things to think about: how do I see myself? How do others see myself? What is my best feature? How can I portray something interesting about myself? Here is a great LINK to give you some ideas.

If there's enough interest, I'm thinking about making this a recurring swap. :)

Housekeeping:

For this swap you need a minimum rating of 4.98 and at least 6 completed and rated with a 5 type 3 swaps. Sorry, no brand newbies.

Before assigning partners I will look through all profiles to remove potential flakers. If needed I will angel.

Please make something you are proud of and would like to receive.

This is "sender's choice" so please rate a 5 as long as you receive a standard sized ATC with a portrait on it even if you don't like it.

do we have to actually put our face on here? I tend to do word and collage art....

@aliceinconverse short answer: yes, you do have to put your face on it.

long answer: you can still use collage techniques to do so. I'm not sure if word art could create a self portrait... that might be risky, but it's also in the realm of possibility.
