Potpourri Dotees

Hello fellow Swappers and Dotee Lovers! I have an awesome idea for a Dotee swap. Let's make Dotees that double as potpourri sachets!

I tend to hang my beautiful Dotees in my bedroom and thought it would be so nice to make a Dotee that contains potpourri or fragrance beads inside, so that my room will look and smell great each time I enter!

For this swap, you will each have ONE partner to send to. This swap will be international, so if you are uncomfortable shipping outside your own country, feel free to create your own local Potpourri Dotee swap. I welcome all swappers, beginners and pros alike, as long as you have a full profile and have completed at least one successful swap with a decent rating in the past. (Before the swap sign-up closes, I will be going through profiles to determine if there are any questionable swappers. No one likes a flaker, especially after we work hard on a Dotee for someone else!) Newbies without any rating: please PM me before joining.

Here are the requirements:

-Your Dotee can be any theme, any colors just as long as it resembles a Dotee Doll

-YOUR DOTEE MUST BE STUFFED WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. Potpourri: a mixture of dried, naturally fragrant plant material (rose, lavender, etc.) (Example: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/potes.html)

2. Aroma Beads: tiny plastic, rubber beads that carry a pleasing scent (Example: http://www.candlesupply.com/how2aromabeads.html)

3. Fresh Scentsâ„¢ Sachets: potpourri particles in a paper envelope (Example: http://www.care4yourhealth.com/Fresh-Scents-Sachets-p-1-c-261.html)

4. YOU CANNOT JUST USE PERFUME AND JUST SPRAY IT ON A STUFFED DOTEE. The point of this swap is to make a Dotee double as a fragrance sachet, so please only use what I’ve listed above to create the aroma, not your own bottled perfume or essential oils. You can use a little polyfill or craft stuffing to give the Dotee some shape, but please make sure they are filled mostly with some form of potpourri.

I know some people have certain allergies to fragrances and potpourris, so please, if you are bothered by certain smells or aromas, do not join this swap! Also, let’s not be picky! You may get a Dotee that smells like apples and cinnamon or you may get a Dotee filled with fresh lavender. That’s the fun of this swap!

The fragrance fillers I have listed can all be found at your local craft store (I see Fresh Scentsâ„¢ Sachets everywhere! A.C. Moore, Michaels, etc.) or online. If you are having a hard time finding something to stuff the Dotee with, let me know and I will help you!

NOTE: It has been brought to my attention that certain countries (Australia, NZ, etc.) will not allow items with dried potpourri (the organic plant and flower kind that I list above as Option #1) to be sent through the mail to their residents. Here is my suggestion: Check with your partner and their customs laws before making and sending the doll. I would say that if you are a US swapper sending to a partner who also lives in the US, feel free to stuff the Dotee with organic potpourri. If you are unsure of your partner’s customs laws, or just don’t want to run into a problem, use the Fresh Scents™ non-organic potpourri or stuff with the aroma beads that are plastic. Thanks!!!
