Description:

Lately I've been in the mood to delve back into old books of poetry -- and to look for new ones! Let's share our favorite poets with each other.

You will make two handmade or altered postcards:
#1: Create a postcard featuring a poem by one of your favorite poets, and
#2: Find a poem you enjoy by one of your partner's favorite poets and create a postcard featuring it!

It's up to you whether you put the actual poem on the front or back of the postcard!

I hope this will give us the opportunity to discover new poets based on our partners' interests, and to share our favorite poets with each other. Be sure to post some of your favorite poets in the comments (and/or list them in your profile)! Once partners are assigned, you can look for poetry by any or all of these poets -- there's a lot of poetry available on-line, but I'll be using this as an excuse for a trip to the library! :) And yes, you will send both postcards to the same partner.

This swap is international. You must have a rating of 3.5 or above. Newbies: please have a full profile and send me a quick message including your prior swapping experience. (I will angel this swap if need be.)

Enjoy!

I found you on postalpop! I've never made ATCs before but I've been looking for an opportunity and this sounds wonderful! My favourite poets: TS Eliot, Jack Kerouac, Margaret Atwood, Anne Sexton.

Welcome, f1shnets, glad you're diving into ATCs, but this swap is for postcards. ;D If you'd like to trade a couple of poetry-themed ATCs, I would be totally happy to have a one-on-one trade with you, just let me know! Hope you'll stay in this swap, too, though!

Looks like swap-botters have awesome taste in poets! I have to add after looking at this that I also love T.S. Eliot and William Carlos Williams.

I have a really neat Eliot book full of drafts and rarities, and a particularly funny raunchy poem.... :D

Some poets I love (in no particular order) include Billy Collins, Rumi, Pablo Neruda and Adrienne Rich. If you have never read Pablo Neruda, you're missing out!
