Song Swap: Names

You think fewer people than the Covers swap? Hmm.. I couldn't come up with covers, but I could do this whole swap from just one musician. I won't...but I could. :)

@user2637 - Thanks for your comment. Yes please do not have all of your songs be from the same artist! :p I didn't put that in the requirements above, but variety is ideal. :)

Coincidentally I married a woman named Titanium and we named our two children Thrift Shop and Cups, so I'm off to a good start.

To everyone who's signed up so far: thanks for making this a "Top Swap"... it's the first time a swap I've created has made the list!

It took less than 20 minutes to remember names fo songs, From 50's to 80's for me. Now to find the artists, and spell the their names correctly.

Idea for another swap in the series. Songs recorded for several generations by different artists. Like ' You got the cutest Baby Face" That made it to the top 100 each generation. If I remember correctly that was released three times and all three was a smash hit for the next generation. Yes I could be 100% wrong

There are many more, I can think of two more off the top of my head. But you are the host, so if you want that is a series go for it, if not, then it fizzles out.

Hi, @fawnscrafts - Thanks for the comment. Actually the first swap I did was for covers (please see the link in the first sentence of the description). It wasn't necessarily "songs recorded for several generatiosn by different artists," just for a list of songs that have been redone (or covered) at least once. (Some people included songs in their list that have been covered many times.) I am not sure if/when I will host the covers swap again; the next swap in the series will be for numbers.

yay! I have 3 songs with my name in the title, lol

I can only think of two songs with @biohazard in the title, Cole Porter's "My Little Toxic Biohazard," and the Everly Brothers' "Bye-Bye Biohazard." What's the third?

Do we need to name 10/+ songs with OUR name or with our partner names..from the comments I think people think it is their Own name and i thought the partner would be sending songs with my name..please clarify..TY

@transplanted1 - Neither! The songs can have ANY person's name and actually it would be preferable (to me anyway) to have them be all different names, but that's not a requirement. I don't think that 10 songs with my name exist... and my name's not terribly uncommon. To have a list of just your name or just your partner's name would be unnecessarily difficult (or possibly impossible). Also everyone will have four partners so having all the songs be one partner's name might be a little weird.

@jaz Ty I thought I needed 40 songs, 10 for each partner with their name in all 10!! Whew...Can you tell i am new? Also can you briefly tell me how to attach a link ie from youtube (you can msg me) I want to start swaps to get rated and I think for this I need links to get hearts

@transplanted1 - Glad to be of help and welcome to Swap-bot! Yes, once again just 10 songs (or more if you choose) the same ones sent to each of your 4 partners, with any (person's) names in the titles... different names preferably. I will send you a PM soon. :)

I've got 10 plus already sitting in my email draft. Now I have to decide which to delete. There are so many songs with names in them.

Another fun one would be places in the title. Lots of those too.

I thought places would be a good theme also, but I won't be hosting that one for a while because I haven't even started my list for it yet... Numbers will be next then colors I think.

I just joined swap bot, but I am a music lover, so this sounds like GREAT fun. Looking forward to getting my lists too...thanks for creating this jaz1yn :D

I have only come up with 6 so far but I have figured out how to search better. Is it ok if all your audio comes from you tube, and all your research is from the same 1 or 2 websites? I am using both ask and google and they both bring me to wikipedia and another...also most of my songs have no vidio only audio, is this ok?

@transplanted1 - YouTube is actually great for links because it's accessible to everyone. The sites you use to find songs do not matter and you don't have to mention them, but you can if you'd like. I myself have mostly been adding songs to a playlist as I come across them on Spotify and the radio (didn't really use a site). Just audio is perfectly fine.

I have finished my list and waiting for partners. great swap! I had a lot of fun finding all my songs :)

Oooo, what a fun swap! I am so looking forward to finding new singers! I have 16 songs on my list already, representing 7 different countries/ in 6 different languages, all of them with a youtube link. Hopefully there'll be at least one new song for everyone!

@jennyjunkpile - Thanks and I hope you enjoy making your list and seeing/listening to your partners' lists! I really like covers so maybe... After I go through numbers, colors, days of the week/months/holidays, places and possibly one or two others... I'll do one more covers swap.

Oh my goodness, I've already got a possible 26 songs on my list; it'll be difficult to cut down to something a little more manageable! I'll leave off the ones I think that most people know, anyway. Thanks for another fun swap! I think colors and places will be especially fun.
