Description:

This is a letter swap for those of us who grew up in the 60's & 70s.

Back then was another time and a whole different world than it is today and I'd love for you to join and share your memories as well.

The letter should at least be 3 - 4 handwritten pages (more if you like!) but PLEASE if you know that you have not so good handwriting, atleast a 2 page letter (TYPED) would be most appreciated, I'm sure. : )

You need to have atleast a 4.95 rating to join and newbies are most welcome. As with all of my swaps, I will angel if necessary but hope that I won't have to.

What to write about? Favorite toys, singers, TV shows, first boyfriends, summer vacations, best friends, products you remember, school, etc., etc. There are tons of things to write about. : )

We had no microwaves....(thank GOD for Jiffy Pop or those big yellow domed thingys with the wand that slowly pushed the kernals around in a circle til they popped). No cordless phones. No way of watching a movie of our choice at home. There was always the Sunday night Disney movie though. Or the same King Kong movie marathon every Sunday. We got up to change the channel. My son complains of boredom all the time...he has NO idea.

Stacy ... I always loved the Jiffy Pop things! And as for no cordless phones, Disney movies on Sunday nights and no remote ... yes, yes and yes, I totally remember. lol I hope that you'll join the swap! : )

Too bad it is US only.... What a nice topic!

Don't forget the Drive-Ins! or the Saturday Matinee downtown!

@mcall - yes, good ones for sure to remember! Thanks for the suggestions and if you're in the age range to have grown up in this time period, I hope that you'll join the swap!

I still have my Disney magazines you could get at Gulf gas stations for a dollar and a fill-up of gas, and the Dolls of the World you could get at ARCO stations for a $1 each after a fill-up. I am pretty certain my dad hated the gas from both, but did it anyways. :)

mcall 07/11/2013 #

Oh! I remember the Dolls of the World :)

@moxsapphir ... I don't remember either of those. : ( It could be though that nearly all of the time we went to our local station in the neighborhood and that it wasn't either of those types of stations.

LOVE this idea! I was born in 1970, does this disqualify me? Not sure if you meant someone had to grow up in BOTH of those decades....I've got lots of 70's memories. : )

Seventies were great too!
