Description:

I thought it might be fun to do a little email recipe swap.

For this swap you will have 5 partners. You will send them a minimum of 5 recipes that fulfill 5 of the categories below. (You can happily do all 10 but 5 is the bare minimum.) Somewhere in your email you need to state which recipe fits which category

  1. You need to bring in some squares (dainties?) for work but the kids have soccer most of the evening so you use one of your old standbys that you’ve made a million times.
  2. You get a phone call at 4 and your uncle and aunt are on their way in to town and want to come over for supper. You make this for supper as you have all the ingredients at home.
  3. You have some apples that need to be used up. You make this for dessert to use some of them up.
  4. Your friends are coming over for supper and you don’t know what they like to eat so you make this as it’s usually well-received by most people.
  5. You’re trying to impress a first date so you make this as it looks good and tastes amazing.
  6. This is a delicious recipe that needs 5 ingredients or less.
  7. You have to bring an appetizer to a party but you’re feeling rather strapped for cash so you make this as it doesn’t cost a lot in groceries.
  8. Skating lessons are at 5:30 and you get home from work at 5 so take out the crockpot and use this recipe.
  9. You have a sugar craving in the evening and a handful of chocolate chips or an apple aren’t going to cut it. You make this ridiculously simple but tasty treat for yourself.
  10. It’s harvest time and you’ve visited the local farmer’s market and bought some of your favourite produce. You’re DEFINITELY having this for supper tonight. (Could be fruit or vegetable. Could be a main course or a dessert.)

The interpretation for each one is up to you. Some are clear (eg. dessert or main course), some more vague.

Since this is an email swap I will allow newbies. However, I will not allow anyone that has any unexplained 1s or any swaps that they are currently late on (and I will check). I am of the opinion that you should make right on missed swaps before joining new ones.

I would love to do this, just don't have time right now. If there is one next month and out early enough I am doing this! I thought of a recipe for nearly each one as I was reading the list. This is a great idea!
