Description:

I've been on a dishcloth-making bender lately. Would you like to swap some? They're quick and easy to make, and money-saving to use! I put them in the kids' lunchboxes as napkins, clean my table and counters, and we use them at the dinner table too. I can't remember the last time I've bought paper towels or napkins.

The Swap Details:

You will make and send TWO hand-made dishcloths, knitted or crocheted, to your partner. Yarn MUST BE 100% Cotton. Choose your favorite pattern or patterns, but the finished products must be at least 7" square.

Sender's choice for color, pattern and yarn-weight. I like to make dishcloths out of 2 strands of size 10 cotton thread, but if you like chunky yarn, that's fine too, as long as it's cotton.

Is it okay if we include a circular dishcloth? I can make it at least 7" in diameter.

Absolutely! 7" diameter sounds fine. Thanks for asking!

There are so many great patterns out there! I am currently working on a scrubber dishcloth. Cannot wait to get my partner! Thanks for doing this swap!

I'm glad to see a dish cloth swap for a change. I'm not much of a granny square person. I did a lot of those as a teenager. Granny squares are beautiful and there are so many variations; but I don't particular like to sew them; it takes a lot of time and patience.

vsengupta... I learned to crochet them together. what i do is lay them out. I then take a different color and crochet a row together.I do all the rows one direction. Then starting on the oppose side, do the same thing. I then use the same color and crochet an edging around. (decided to try this after thinking a sashing look from quilting)It looks like I weaved them together then. Lots easier than the sewing way plus gives a new pattern look.

I love to crochet! Looking forward to this swap.

If this goes well, I may run one regularly. (Maybe not monthly, but maybe every 6 weeks or so...)
