Carpe Librum ~ Book Club April

If 10 or more people sign up (that aren't founders/officers), I'll be giving away a random envelope of reading related goodies!

Each month I will post 6 books for you to choose ONE to read for the Book Club for your swap. You can certainly read more, if you would like, but 1 is all that is required for the swap. I will post the books by the 1st of the month, and sign ups will stay up through the 7th of that month. The send date will be the 6th of the following month. That will give you about a month to read, and another 6 days to get the swap sent out. If the swap is not sent out on or before the 6th (take note of any holidays or weekends and send prior to that), I won't allow you in the next months swap.

If you'd like to have a hand in picking out upcoming Book of the Month Books, we have a bookshelf going at the GoodReads group of what everyone would like to read, and will be picking from that.

If a book I have chosen is part of a series and you have read that book, you MAY choose the book within the series that you are on, to read instead. Just make a note to your partner that it is within the series.

NOTE ~ Changes made to what needs to be sent in swap

After you have read your book, please write to your partner at least TWO full pages (8.5x11/A4) or 1 full page if typed (small margins, small fonts). I'm no longer going to specify any certain questions you have to answer just make the swap long, not just "I like this". Tell your partner all about it, without giving details away, your thoughts and opinions on the book and anything else you can think of.

Here are some questions to help you, if you aren't sure what to write. You can use any or none of these, as long as your swap length is the full 2 pages by hand or 1 if typed.

• What was the book about?
• Did you like or dislike it?
• Who was your favorite character?
• What was your favorite part? What was your least favorite?
• Have you read any other books by this author?
• Would you read any others because of this book?
• Were there any situations or characters in the book that you identified with? How?
• Did you like the book from the beginning or did it take you a while to get into it?
• Would you change anything about the book?
• Would you ask the author a question if you could? What would you ask?
• Would you recommend this book to other readers?
• What surprised you the most about the book?
• What is the significance of the title? Would you have given the book a different title? If yes, what is your title?

No rating requirements since it is in the group. Please send on or before the 6th. If I get on to assign the next month and you haven't sent, I'll not let you into that swap. Don't forget to rate your partner, that's the final part of the Swap transaction!
