Description:
Cut an ATC using dark cardstock. Ink, paint or chalk over the ATC with a lighter color. When dry, sand the edges & some of the ATC. This makes a worn look for your background. Finish it off however you want being sure some of the sanding still shows on the finished project. Please add this to a sturdy backing. One ATC to one partner.

Is dry embossing the piece before sanding allowed?

You need to use cardstock that doesn't have a white core, because it wil sand down to the white and won't give you the effect you're trying for. It needs be solid core cardstock. If you look at the edge you can see if it has white in the middle.
