Description:

This will be similar to my City version, only it will be states. If you get a partner in the same state, perhaps the deck will still be different. At the end of the series, we can all do private swaps with our duplicate states.

The first swap will be for all four Aces in the deck. The second will be for Twos, and so on. You will keep your Kings and your Jokers.

Protect the cards in a greeting card or sturdy folded cardstock, and in some sort of plastic covering as well.

One week to sign up, then 3 days to mail! When the sign-ups close for this one, I will open the next one the same day.

I don't understand the rules since I never saw the city version. Do you just send 4 fours from a deck of cards to your partner? Why is it listed as a game? The explanation is not very clear to me. Sorry.

We are trading parts of different state-themed decks of cards, so that we will end up with a deck with each value from a different state. I labeled as game because it is a swap for game pieces, and we typically discuss our favorite card games in the note of the envelopes we send.

I still don' t understand what you mean by state-themed decks of cards. Do you alter the cards or do they have the state name on the back? I guess I've never seen any that say Ohio on them. I'm still confused. It's sort of hard to jump in at this point when the rules aren't clear to a new person. I didn't know you discuss your favorite card game. Maybe I'm just an old dog. LOL

Sorry about the confusion. Sometimes series of swaps can be confusing if you missed the first ones.

I do mean a deck of cards that you purchase, a souvenir deck where the cards feature the state or things about the state. They can be found in souvenir shops and also gas stations near the state borders. I am sure they can be purchased online as well. My local department store had three different decks for my state and one for my city. There is also a Made In Oregon shop in the mall, which is where I got my first deck. I have seen these decks at Wal-Mart. Usually sold along with postcards, key chains, shot glasses, t-shirts, bumper stickers, magnets, snowflakes, coffee mugs, maps, and lots of other goodies that appeal to travelers.

Exchanging tidbits about the games we play with cards is not required for the swap, just a little extra something to write about in our notes. The items we are swapping are game pieces, hence the swap category.

Thank you. That explains the concept. I have never seen any cards like that in the n. Ohio area. Maybe I just never looked for them. Now it sounds like a fun swap. I'll have to keep an eye out for cards from my area. We don't seem to have a lot of souvenir shops here. Perhaps that explanation would be helpful in the rules of the swap. Just the first sentence would clarify it. Hugs. Joy
