Description:

Halloween. The second best thing about the month of October (the first is my bday).

For this swap we will fill -AND I MEAN FILL- a freezer sized Ziplock style bag (name brand not necessary but it's the gallon size) with lots of Halloween goodies. Think stickers, brads, dottees or small plushies or figurines, socks, rubber stampers, etc. Candy can be sent but shouldn't be more than 5 or so pieces to focus the bulk of the package on other fun stuff. A few dollar store items are allowed but shouldn't be most of the contents. Send something to wow your partner.

For this swap you must have at least 25 or more type 3 swaps, no exceptions. USA only for postage concerns.

If you want to host a newbie or international type swap of this, be my guest.

I hope you do this one again! Maybe next time around I will have more swaps under my belt! I LOVE Halloween!!

Whippet 07/ 8/2015 #

Hi Diane! Watching this swap for now. Could you give suggest of size in volume of the Ziplock bag - freezer type? Ziplock baggies - freezer type come in different sizes & I have these.

VivaLaDiane 07/ 8/2015 #

The freezer size I am meaning are the gallon ones. Hope that helps. xoxo

Maczgirl 07/22/2015 #

I'm with SpicyJordan hope you do again when I have swaps under my belt 😁

njstauter 07/26/2015 #

What a great swap idea!

CajunLady 08/26/2015 #

Is there a $$$ amount minimum?

VivaLaDiane 08/27/2015 #

Mikki, no. With handmade things being a part of this, it'd be difficult to attach a price as there's no amount of value for ones time. But I'm scouring profiles before assigning to make sure the people in the swap are generous.

Rocktopus 08/30/2015 #

Viva you have the best swaps.

Rocktopus 08/31/2015 #

Can I include handmade decor? like potion bottles etc?

heidiling 09/ 1/2015 #

great swap:) Would you consider doing this as an international swap, or may I create one?

VivaLaDiane 09/ 3/2015 #

Rocktopus♥ Thank you. And yes, you absolutely can do that.

VivaLaDiane 09/ 3/2015 #

@heidiling , I personally can't do an international one but you have my full blessing to do one. Just please don't start or end on my dates, other than that --go for it! :)

Doggie23 09/ 4/2015 #

I don't mind alot of candy! Chocolates > craft supplies

Doggie23 09/ 4/2015 #

I already started buying stuff for this swap ^_^

shysky74 09/ 4/2015 #

aww wish i could of join this swap:( maybe next time

Rcinderella7 09/ 7/2015 #

Aw! I wish I could join! I don't have enough type 3 swaps, will you host a Christmas one!?!?

Syn1226 09/ 7/2015 #

Can we include some Halloween candy too? Not all of it but some.

lilkye 09/ 8/2015 #

Syn1226, the swap says you can, but requests no more than 5 or so pieces. Unless your partner prefers candy like Doggie23 posted, and you verify they'd be okay with (or prefer) more candy before sending.

khstarr10 09/ 8/2015 #

I'd like to join this swap-but sounds a bit pricy for me at this time. Just fixed my car & have to pay another installment on my excise tax for my car. Maybe if you did a smaller one w/say 5 items -all different to I partner w/ a card? Then more people could join that one-if you include newbies. Think about it-or maybe someone else will host one.

VivaLaDiane 09/ 9/2015 #

I am hosting a Christmas one.

Yes, some candy is okay. If your partner seems to enjoy that a bunch, go for it if they mention it like above.

And I'm sorry if the swap is too pricey for some. NO harm done at all. I won't do another version or amend my swap at all. Every member is allowed to host at will, so if this sparks a few ideas for other swaps, beautiful. But I will not. I host what I'd like to and nothing more or less. I hope that doesn't come out bitchy because it isn't intended that way. Some hosts need tips or guidance or suggestions. I'm not that host.

brokenwings 09/10/2015 #

Diane, I love this swap so much! I'm going to host a slightly-revised version for Newbies. :)

VivaLaDiane 09/11/2015 #

I'm honored. ♥

Paige1900 09/16/2015 #

Just dropping by to SPAM up your comment section...no other reason at all.

scrapinanci53 09/16/2015 #

I really love Halloween and I really would love being part of this swap. Can't wait to get started on this.

nellswell 09/17/2015 #

I'm not going to participate in this one, BUT only because my "Type 3" swap participation abilities are limited right now, and I want to make sure that I can do the Christmas version (which is on my watch list until it gets closer to the signup date). :-) Hope everyone has fun!!

VivaLaDiane 09/18/2015 #

To @scrapinanci53 and anyone newer, I'm sorry but this swap isn't for you. One of the most important things to know on Swapbot is reading is fundamental. You might miss a detail or a rule that doesn't apply to you. Many swaps has requirements. Especially ones that are time or money intensive. You must build a solid reputation here and doing so takes time. You can't jump right in a community, or a job, or anything and automatically have run of the land. You become on a spoken or unspoken trial period. That's true here.

I was new here once as well and had to build my reputation. I did so slowly and all of the swaps I ever wanted to be in I either waited for them to run again or I hosted when I was able. It teaches you why there are rules and restrictions.

Realizing that I wanted to help new users build that reputation, I helped start a successful group here called Newbie Helpers. There you can safely do swaps that will allow you to build that reputation and give you help along the way. Please understand that being "banned" or removed from a swap isn't a bad thing. A good host would want the safest swap possible. Over time, I hope you understand.

paperpusher 09/30/2015 #

I'm not in this swap but have to say that is an awesome and informative response there @VivaLaDiane !!!

JudalineZ 10/ 3/2015 #

I love Halloween and more scarier I will love. I am diabetes and live in Arizona and it get so hot most of the time the chocolate which I love will melt. But if you have sugar free Halloween candies that won't melt I will be happy to get few. My profile will give you idea what I love.
