Description:

I have only recently discovered brads! Who knew split pins had changed so much since I was at school? You can get animal shaped brads, brads with gems in them, brads of every single colour of the rainbow, the choices are endless! They seem like wonderful little things and I would like to see how people use them in their art!

For this swap, please incorporate at least one brad into an ATC. You can use as many as you like, of any shape you like, any colour you like, but please try and make a picture of some kind. Any picture, any theme, as long as it includes at least one brad. If you want to make some parts of your atc moveable or 3d - go for it! Sender's choice. Please also put 3 brads into the envelope for your partner to use in a future project. They can be all the same, or different. The choice is yours.

I just KNOW that people are going to have really creative ways of using them, and I would love to see what you come up with. Please make something you are proud of. Any and all mediums are allowed, apart from sticker slapping.

This is an international swap, newbies with a filled out profile are welcome. If you have any unexplained low marks, please message me. I will of course angel if I need to. Any questions let me know!

Have some fun and get making!

I use the brads when I make paper dolls. This way the arms and legs move in all directions.

I use them so many ways. Maybe you'd like to add your email here. Maybe then some who join this swap can send you photos of what they send to their partner. I will if you'd like. Or send us all a group email? You have access to everyone's emails as hostess.

I use brads as flower centers, hinges for moving elements, general embellishing especially for masculine cards, I use three in a row generally in the top right corner. I've wrapped wire, ribbon or twine around them for various looks or to suspend something from them. They work great to add a book mark to the front of a card. It serves as a focal point but is then removable and usable. Just poke it through the hole at the top and use a smidge of adhesive to hold the bottom. I've used them also to add hard to adhere layers together like very textured pieces, I've even joined a swap where no adhesive was allowed and I used them to add my layers. Some embellies come with holes like metal pieces or charms so I use them to hold them on. I've embellished an image with them like buttons on a jacket or centers of car or bike tires. I even have a tool that pokes holes for them using one end of the tool and spreads the legs with the other end! Helps me not break nails.
