HG: Solid White ATC

For this swap, you will create an ATC that is solid white... using only one shade of white, too!

As this is a fiber group, of course the ATC will be made of fibers. (If you find a little embellishment of the exact same shade of white that your fibers are, that's fine.) So, if all you have in your stash is just one ball of white yarn or thread - that's quite enough! Create of it a background of the usual 3.5"x2.5" (or 2.5"x3.5" - that's your choice), create the details to fix to it; or create it all in one flow. Weave, felt, crochet, knit, tie knots, use a flower-maker, embroider, any other idea, or all of above!

Ah. Where goes the fine line between craft and art, to make this an ATC, not a pattern sample? Well, my opinion is that if you use a pattern to create a little rectangle, that in itself is not an ATC yet, as there isn't much of your creativity in it, but it can be a background for your ATC. But if you plan a background, plan embellishments and patterns to use (even if using existing ones), plan the placement of embellishments or areas with different patterns, and then create it all - this, IMO, already counts as art. Or if you create a pattern of your own, say, for filet crochet (in this particular swap, there should still be a same-white background showing through the holes). A good way to check is to consider whether you can give your ATC a meaningful name - if you can't come up with anything but "Untitled #23" or "All White", then it is less likely to be an ATC that if you can call it, say, "A Fishing Polar Bear" depicting a polar bear butt out of a hole in ice (but no black dots for eyes and nose - remember, solid white!).

If you are still doubtful as how could this work, here's one particular idea - if you even just considered our ATC swap for January ("ATC with a snowflake"), then, really, you could make the same kind of ATC for both of these swaps - lots of snowflakes on whatever pattern background and call it "Blizzard" or "Very White Christmas" or something like that. For an "one-shade" ATC public swap, I made a green background on which I fixed green leaves and a green caterpillar eating said leaves - all crocheted with the same yarn. I hope these examples make ideas flowing!
