Description:

This is an inexpensive but delightful swap for our group members who enjoy sending, receiving, and/or collecting postcards. The first few rounds were popular and lots of fun, and we've got even more group members to join in this time around!

FIRST: LET ME BE CLEAR: This swap is for 3 new/like new blank postcards to be sent in an envelope for your partner to use. This is in the description below exactly as before, below, but 2 of the 3 times I did this swap I received a single, beautiful handwritten and stamped postcard. My partners then each had to re-send according to the swap requirements. Don't let this happen to you or your partner. I know the instructions for the swaps I host are sometimes quite detailed, but you NEED to read the entire description to understand what you're agreeing to and what to expect in return.

Thank you, and have fun! ♥

If you'd like to join this swap, please make sure you have several things listed in your profile that will help your partner find and send postcards for you that suit your own personal style and tastes. If you don't have a specific "postcard" section in your profile, be sure that you do include a large variety of ideas for themes or subjects you like.

All group members maintain well-filled-out profiles and meet the requirement of at least a 4.98 rating to join. In the unlikely event that it's necessary, I will angel this swap after you have attempted to contact your partner and honestly rated a "1" for a no-send.

Here are the rules:

As with all of our swaps:

♥ Read through your partner's complete profile for ideas of themes you can send. The idea is to send your swap partners things (in this case, postcards) related to their interests that will make them smile :)

♥ Always check for your partner's dislikes and avoid sending them, so you don't unintentionally spoil what would otherwise be an absolute delight (e.g. sending a pretty picture postcard of a great big bumblebee on your partner's favorite flower, when your partner has explained that she has a serious phobia of bees).

You will send your partner 3 postcards. These should be sent blank, inside an envelope (for your partner to use) to keep postage costs down as this is an international swap. Please try to respect your partner's preferences. Each of the postcards you send should be in a theme or of a type inspired by your partner's profile.

Postcards should be in new or like-new condition. Please send something of a quality you would like to receive, and protect them so they don't get all bent up.

In order to receive a 5, your 3 postcards should meet the above criteria:please rate anyone a 5 as long as they meet these criteria. Hearts are of course at your own discretion.

As always, please only sign up if you can get your swap ready to send out by the send date. Please remember to include your name and the name of the swap.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Have fun swapping! ♥

Hello Phillaine, Just a suggestion. Put the number 3 in the title of your swaps. (3 profile based postcards swap). Perhaps we will not make the mistake to send only one postcard instead of 3.

@Johanna51 Thank you for your suggestion, and I will take that into consideration. I do my best to make it very clear what each swap requires.

The concern I have is with people not reading swap instructions. If I just put 3 in the title, not reading the same instructions would mean the postcards would have still been sent naked, which is not what this swap is for. I shouldn't have to make the title "3 profile-based postcards sent blank in an envelope" when the instructions for the swap very clearly begin with : "You will send your partner 3 postcards. These should be sent blank, inside an envelope (for your partner to use) to keep postage costs down as this is an international swap." Does that make sense? In everyone's interests, I recommend that nobody make assumptions (here or in any other group or public swap) about what a swap requires based on their interpretation of a title without actually reading what it is about.

I realize mistakes and mix-ups happen to all of us, which is why I posted this as a reminder to read through the entire swap description to be sure you know what it entails. As this is a profile-based swap group, I'm concerned if people don't even read through the instructions of a swap, how likely is it that they're going to read through their partner's entire profile and avoid their dislikes, etc., which is a basic group requirement?

I will do my part to be more clear and concise with swap descriptions, and it is each group member's responsibility to read and follow swap requirements. One of the things that makes our group great is our members' attention to detail.

As tone often doesn't translate well in type, please understand that I am genuinely trying to help out here and make sure everyone has the best swapping experience possible. :) I do welcome suggestions and feedback, and again, thank you for yours.
