How can it be shaped if it has to be 2 1/2 x 3 1/2? What do you mean by that?

Like cut a heart shape but it has 3 inches tall at the tallest point and 2 1/2 inches wide at the widest part. I like to take a rectangle atc and draw a shape on it being sure that some part of the shape is touching the top, bottom, and both sides then cut it out. I've done a dolphin, cupcake and gingerbread man that way. If you google image search "shaped atc" there's some cute ones for inspiration :)
