Art Journal Swap,

Will there be an International version by any chance or anyone want to swap with an obsessed art journaler in England?

just out of curiosity when these art journals are done they are done not sent with places for the person getting them to add to them correct? i mean what i am doing is complete like a look at it book is that right? or am i supposed to leave parts to be done by the person receiving it like places to journal or put photos?

another question... im gong to make my book and want to use a tim holts 2 ring binder center as the way i hook my pages to the spine but before i cut the paper is that going to be acceptable or do you want folded pages that are sewn or glewed in? it makes a difference to the size i cut. so please get back to me quickly on it so that i can begin putting this together because im going to need every minute to do it.

LadyCyr....Hi....To answer your first question.. Yes you are totally finishing the book. On the back pages of the book you can leave room for your partner to add to if you want or cover it completely. That is up to you. However the from of each page must be completely covered. I tend to do 2 page spreads so I use the back of the previous page and a new page. I also sometimes will decorate the back page in a way that leaves room to tuck something in it an while leaving it decorate when removed. That way the book doesn't have any blank pages at all.

Question 2.....You can make the book in any style you like as long as it is no smaller the 5 by 7. And has 30 fully done pages with the backs of those pages at least partially (1/3 to 1/2) covered so it's not just he a blank page.

yippy i have started the pages. i am doing my book landscape not letter. it should be very cool i am in love with the first page that i did and think i am going to have to make one for myself as well. this is going to be so awesome i can not wait to see what i do with it nor what gets sent to me :)

Does a double spread count as 2 pages?

I've thought about double spread pages and have decided that they will count as only one page. It wouldn't be fair if someone chose to do 15 double pages while others did 30 different pages. You can do double pages but they count as 1 page only.

I just hit 1/2 way on the pages tonight. All the pages I've done are front and back like the rules say. But each page facing each other for more coheasion goes together. Now I just read that all that work won't count as a 2 page thing and my rings r not big enough nor do I have the time to add double the work. I hope that each front and back counts as a single one or I will be bummed and have to drop the swap bc I can't send a 1/2 completed book and if each facing page doesn't count as its own page I will not have enough time to double the size let me know bc u have closed it 2 days ago even though partners r not a signed yet

I have a question because I'm getting mixed messages with some of the requirements. I have decorated the first page and inside of the cover and then the second and third page also share a theme that expands across both pages and so does pages 4 and 5. Are you saying that decorating the two pages that are side by side, when the book is laid open, if they are within the same decor, only count as one page? Or Are are you saying 30 pages, front and back, must be decorated only. Because I have a lot of images I would like to use that span across two pages but if you are only counting that as one page that means technically I would have to do 120 pages? I definitely do not have the time to do that or the space I the journal I've already started.

The requirements says that a 2 page spread counts as 1 page so if there are 30 pages in your book and you finish them front and back, you are basically decorating 60 pages, or 30 page spreads, not 120. As long as our book has at least 30 pages and we decorate both sides of each page we will be fine.

i think we are all freaking out now i know i am. im doing 30 pages front and back which to me = 60 pages i have 29 done and every page except page 1 is a 2 page spread. so now my hundreds and hundreds of hours that keep me up i every night working on this takes just as much time to do as doing pages that make no sense being next to each other. so its too late to start over or change the way i am doing this. so what i am going to do is continue and enter what i am doing and i figure the worst that can happen is i get a 3 but i think any one who sees the amount of work that has been put into this book will give it the 5 it deserves and if i get a book with 2 pages together i will still give a 5 because i will be happy to just meet 60 pages of art. (30 front and back) ill be ok and so will all of you i think :)

Sorry everyone I didn't mean to confuse you all with my wording. Okay here's the deal. I don't want any blank pages. So as long as you fill up the book pages front and back you can do as many double pages you want to do. I've done 11 myself.

yes thank you big sigh of releif.... ok i would love to see what everyone is doing for this so if you didnt get me and you want to see what i am working on i will email any one who private messages me with their email and when the swap is over and my person gets their book i will post all the pages on instagram under ladycyr. i got dragonangel517 so you do not get to see any pics you just have to wait the supprise in the mail is so much better. that is why i will not post pics to instagram till you get it. if you got me do not share any pics of it with me i want to see it in hand the 1st time. also i am doing my very first hosting of a swap another art journal but this one is all halloween based. there are only 8 in it so far but i know it will be amazing i would love to see you all join that too if you have the time to do another big project :)
