Description:
VERY IMPORTANAT TO MEASURE AND CUT THIS CORRECTLY.This is a background only swap. We will be creating backgrounds out of 12" X 12" base. This will be similar to the THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT SWAPS. 1.) Get a 12" X 12" sturdy base to apply several techniques to it. 2.) Lay Down a bubblegum pink COAT OF ACRYLIC PAINT. Does not need to be perfect. In fact leaving a few little bare spaces is desirable. 3.) Smoothly PASTE/glue PIECES OF BOOK PAGE Randomly. Just here and there leaving the bubble gum pink paint and base to show through the spaces between. 4.) Pour a little metallic gold ACYRLIC PAINT INTO A PLATE. DIP SMALL PEICE OF BUBBLE WRAP into it , BUBBLE SIDE DOWN AND RANDOMLY PRINT this over the other layers, once again leaving parts of the layers showing. 5.) Get a large simple pattern rubber stamp. Such as solid squares or large simple flowers Whatever suits your fancy, use maroon/burgundy acrylic paint to stamp a few over the base once again NO solid pattern. 6.) Finally get a small lid like a baby food jar lid or a lid from a pill bottle and gently dip into eggplant purple acrylic paint that has been poured into a plate and randomly stamp this over your creation. 7.) The last layer is your choice of material/ techniqic. Make sure you are not completely covering any of the layers. Once this is dried you will cut ATC sized backgrounds from this. MEASURE TWICE CUT ONCE NEATLY.Pattern in in the swap photo area. The idea is to trade with 4 different partners an equal number of backgrounds. Basically they will be the same BUT DIFFERENT.Please start right away when join It is a short turn around.I will Angel if I HAVE to.But I won't have to, right?

What if you don't have a particular color, like bubblegum pink or any of the other colors, can you use whatever shade of that basic color you do have?

I think @Athena58 was meaning that if you didn't have the exact name bubblegum pink or eggplant purple, but you did have a different pink and a dark purple if that would be okay to use, and from what your answer was above where you said you could even mix your own colors as long as it made the pink and dark purple or maroon that it would be okay not to have the exact name of the paint but make sure it is in the same color family as you listed. Is that correct?

Great idea, but I dont any jars the size of baby food and no bubble wrap. So I will sit this one out.

LilyPuBear you could use a pill bottle or a cookie cutter of comparable size.No bubble wrap at all? I can not think of a sub for that.

Athena58,sorry I misunderstood your question by all means get as close as you can to the colors.You do not have to purchase paint that says specifically bubble gum pink on the label,etc.

Ok so I’m looking more carefully at the diagram and I’ve answered my own question! I should be able to get all 16 pieces from one project-correct?? Thanks! Sorry for not reading carefully!!

Another question-since these are probably going to be used for actual backgrounds by their new owners how should we label this swap? A piece of separate paper in the envelope or label the back as you would with a finished atc?
