Description:

This swap will be International, and it is an EMAIL swap. We will send the email to everyone who signs up, so you will potentially have all group members for partners. But, you may send the same email to all partners, it doesn't have to be individualized.

Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the choices of what to read! Or I get "stuck" in one genre and need to break out. I thought it would be fun to try a reading challenge for the group. :) If you have any ideas for future rounds, please let me know. :)

For the month of September, read a book from the Historical Fiction genre. This is a book that is based on historical events, but maybe it has made up characters or dialog written by the author. Any time frame is fine, any country. The book doesn't "have to" be in English, but I think English is the common language of the group, so it would be nice to be able to share a good book. :)

In an EMAIL, list the swap title, your swap-bot ID, the title of the book and the author. (if the book is not available in English, translate the title into English, and make a note that it's not English).

Then, answer the following questions:

  1. Why did you choose this book?

  2. Write a brief description of the book. What did you enjoy about the book?

  3. Have you read many Historical Fiction type books? Do you have a favorite time period to read? Or a favorite author?

  4. If you were giving it a star rating of 1 ("I hated it") to 5 ("I loved it"), what would you rate this book? Would you recommend this book to others?

Type or copy & paste those 4 questions and your replies into an email and send it off to your partners by the send by date. :) If you do send the same email to everyone, please use BCC for all partners.

I will continue this series each month, as long as at least one other signs up. If you have suggestions for genres, please send me a PM with your ideas. :) This should ideally be a book you are reading for the first time, not a book you previously read, so you are being challenged to try a new genre. :)

If you have any questions please send me a PM. I will not respond to questions left below in the comments section. And I probably won't even see them, honestly.
