Description:

This is the second in my recycle, reuse, repurpose ATC swap series.

I like to recycle, reuse, and repurpose items in my art. So I thought it would be fun to make ATCs with used boxes. Look for thin cardboard boxes. Check out tissue, cereal, old gift boxes, etc. Since this is the season where many people are exchanging gifts a lot of boxes maybe coming your way. I have given a large lead-time so we will have ample time to collect just the right boxes. Embellishments are welcome, just remember the finished cards must fit into a standard trading card sleeve.

Each person will have 2 partners and send 2 ATCs to each partner. You do not have to make 4 different ATCs but please make as least 2 different ones for each person. That means you will make 4 artist trading cards and send two to each of your 2 assigned partners. And you will receive 2 from each of your 2 partners.

Any theme but a reused box must constitute at least 80% of the ATC. Only original ATCs please, no computer generate ones!

Artist trading cards are 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches, and should be flat enough to slide into a standard trading card sleeve.

Please be sure you can meet the mailing deadline of February 19, 2009 before you sign up for this swap.

Newbies are welcome. Please don't sign up for this one if you have a swap-bot rating lower than 4.

I recognize that kleenex box with the mugs on it! I have that same one that I keep recycling for tissues--when it runs out and then I get an ugly box of tissues, I just take out the tissues from the ugly box and put them in the pretty box again! haha, just had to share since I love that box (the one in the swap photo above). Not sure I will have the heart to cut it up for ATCs...haha

You are correct it is a Kleenex tissue box. I made several of these but they are all gone. I haven't seen one for awhile so they may have discontinued the design. I am always on the outlook for object to convert into ATCs.

I just finished my ATCs for this and am so excited. I enjoyed the hunt and this isn't my last recycle swap.

Bananajana,

So glad you enjoyed the hunt. I am always on the look out for items to use in making ATCs. I especially like to recycle, reuse and repurpose stuff.

This is my last swap before I leave for holidays. I just sqeaked it in under the wire as we get our partners a day before we leave. :) Of course they are all ready to go- I wish I could say the same about me. Gotta finish packing.

Missysmom,

glad you could squeak the swap in before leaving. I usually (always) click the partner assignment button the morning after the closing date. Since I am on the East Coast I don't like to do it right after mid-night that way those further west have more time to sign up or drop out.
