Description:

On the 9th of December 2019, it will mark two years of Marriage Equality in Australia.

The first country in the world to recognise same-sex marriage was the Netherlands in 2001, followed by Belgium in 2003 and Spain and Canada in 2005. Australia was 25th of 28 countries that have introduced legislation for same-sex marriage to date.

For this swap, you'll have one partner and you'll send them one postcard. Drop a comment below on how you'd like it sent (ie, in an envelope or written and stamped) as I know some people may join pride swaps but may still be closeted at home, so be respectful of that, please!

On the postcard, write something you love about yourself! Truly celebrate who you are, okay! You're gorgeous, and it freaking shows! You may also write - but it isn't a requirement - what you like about the queer community (global or local), or your celebrations (ie if you've been to a pride festival or fair or some type of celebration), or what being genuine and honest with yourself means to you too, or if you have a partner and if/when/are you married, if that makes sense.(Sorry if this sounds sappy, I just think it's awesome to share stories and experiences!)

For any Aussies that join the swap, this isn't a requirement, more of an interest or a prompt if you like, let your partners know what marriage equality means to you, or your experiences/thoughts during the postal vote.

This is a Newbie Friendly Swap! Open to swappers with a rating of 4.90 or higher!

Happy Swapping!

I’m find with a post card. No need to put into an envie.

I like the idea of this swap but feel it is better suited to a letter to be able to include more than the 3-4 sentences I can fit on a postcard.

prefer all my postcard swaps in an envie, and would therefore prefer this one in an envelope too x

@PrettyAlice hi! Hmm, I can totally understand that! Unfortunately, because postage here has gone up, I can't really create another swap for this, so if you'd like to host another version of the swap, be my guest...or if you'd like me to include the choice of a letter for this swap, then please let me know :)

I would like to receive the postcard whichever way you prefer!
