Description:

PLEASE NOTE: Well-established folks ONLY (50 or more Type 2/Type 3 swaps completed). I changed the settings to an automatical rating of 4.96. If you wish to participate but your rating is too low, please contact me and I will check your profile and decide whether or not to let you in as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE TOO: do not ad a new card as long as you still have a card to send out that belongs to someone else. Lately I do receive envies with more then one card (that's okay), but then there is also a brand new card added to join this swap. I have also been contacted about this by other participants. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Wouldn't it be great to send a postcard and see where it had been all around the world? Then get it returned back to you after its adventures were over? Let's do it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST ROUND:

Choose a card. A card that you think people would enjoy seeing (however, PLEASE DO NOT USE EXTRA LARGE POSTCARDS THAT WILL REQUIRE EXTRA POSTAGE!). Put your name and address (including the country!) on the right hand side of the card. Put the title of the swap ("Adventures of the Traveling Postcard") and your screen name at the top of the left hand side. PUT IT IN AN ENVELOPE and send it off to your partner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE PREVIOUS ROUND(S):

Just write your name, username, city, state/country, on the left hand side of the postcard you received in the previous round. Put it in an envelope and send it to your partner! (DO NOT WRITE YOUR ENTIRE ADDRESS ON THE POSTCARD - THIS TAKES UP TOO MUCH SPACE!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hang on to the postcard(s) that you receive in each round. We will have another round each month. Sign up when you receive yours from the previous round, start another one in rotation, or contact me, as I may have a postcard that needs to be put back into rotation as well! When the left side of the postcard is filled up with the names and cities of those that have received the postcard, the last person will stamp your actual postcard and send it back to you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IMPORTANT:

1.) Please don't send more than 3 cards per round. Hang on to the extra ones and send them in following rounds. If you have too many, please contact me.

2.) Do not ad a new card as long as you still have a card to send out that belongs to someone else. If you do receive a newly started card as an 'extra' card, please let me know.

3.) Before sending out the cards to the next person, do check if the cards belongs to someone who is still participating. If they are not, please contact me about it.

4.) If you decide to stop the swap, please contact me so you can send your received cards to me and I can keep them in rotation.

5.) Do NOT send the postcard back to the original owner until the left side of the postcard is completely filled unless instructed otherwise. CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT SENDING YOUR PARTNER'S CARD BACK TO THEM AS PART OF THE SWAP ROUND YOU'RE ON.

6.) Do not destroy, bend, write on the front of, or ANYTHING else that destroys the integrity of the postcard. Treat the postcard how you would want yours treated.

7.) Do not send huge cards! It requirers extra postage! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well-established folks ONLY (50 or more Type 2/Type 3 swaps completed) and I will ban if I feel that you may be a questionable swapper. I want to do my best to ensure that everyone receives their postcards back. So don't join if you don't think you can commit to it for the long haul. I will be checking EVERYONE'S profile and will ban anyone that I feel like. Thanks and happy swapping!

At all:

Is there anyone still in this swap who started from round 1? Just curious as round 100 is coming up in two months! :-)

MrsKytes 02/ 2/2020 #

Hi everyone. I moved in June 2019, so if you see my card with a Paris address, please PM me for my new one! Thank you.

jessi1221 02/ 2/2020 #

Does it have to be a postcard? Can it be a notecard?

institches 02/ 2/2020 #

@MrsKytes - it would be a big help if you put your actual name down too

Apelser 02/12/2020 #

@mdkrouwel - yip. I have been around since round 1

mcovey 02/12/2020 #

tizzicat 02/20/2020 #

I started in round 19. Have a few cards out there. Only ever had one back!

Carolien25 02/23/2020 #

I haven't received the card for round 97 yet. What should i do?

user6937 02/28/2020 #

I started in round 1, but finally quit when I never got it back - kept hoping it would eventually make its way back home, but nada :(

mdkrouwel 03/ 2/2020 #

@Apelser that is really cool! Did you receive many of your cards back? I think now I should have marked/numbered all of my card so that I know how many are still traveling!

mdkrouwel 03/ 2/2020 #

Banned 6 people from the swap, because they didn't meet the requirements (50 type 2-3 swaps or more).

MrsKytes 03/ 2/2020 #

@institches well, it has my username on the card, so I never thought to say my name as well. It's Hannah Delannoy though.

Apelser 03/ 2/2020 #

@mdkrouwel - Sadly, I haven't received a lot of my cards back.

mdkrouwel 03/ 3/2020 #

@Apelser - that is really bad! :-(

kittyhahahotbot 03/ 3/2020 #

I have Amy Dietz & Inger Amundsen.
