~~TAKE CARE, STAY SAFE AND STAY INSIDE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!~~

Due to the Corona-virus I have changed this swap to once every two months instead of each month. Postal services are slow and I can imagine people would like to save up a bit considering circumstances. If you want to drop out for a while, please let me know. I totally understand if you do!

PLEASE NOTE: Well-established folks ONLY (50 or more Type 2/Type 3 swaps completed). I changed the settings to an automatical rating of 4.96. If you wish to participate but your rating is too low, please contact me and I will check your profile and decide whether or not to let you in as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE TOO: do not ad a new card as long as you still have a card to send out that belongs to someone else. Lately I do receive envies with more then one card (that's okay), but then there is also a brand new card added to join this swap. I have also been contacted about this by other participants. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Wouldn't it be great to send a postcard and see where it had been all around the world? Then get it returned back to you after its adventures were over? Let's do it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST ROUND:

Choose a card. A card that you think people would enjoy seeing (however, PLEASE DO NOT USE EXTRA LARGE POSTCARDS THAT WILL REQUIRE EXTRA POSTAGE!). Put your name and address (including the country!) on the right hand side of the card. Put the title of the swap ("Adventures of the Traveling Postcard") and your screen name at the top of the left hand side. PUT IT IN AN ENVELOPE and send it off to your partner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE PREVIOUS ROUND(S):

Just write your name, username, city, state/country, on the left hand side of the postcard you received in the previous round. Put it in an envelope and send it to your partner! (DO NOT WRITE YOUR ENTIRE ADDRESS ON THE POSTCARD - THIS TAKES UP TOO MUCH SPACE!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hang on to the postcard(s) that you receive in each round. We will have another round each month. Sign up when you receive yours from the previous round, start another one in rotation, or contact me, as I may have a postcard that needs to be put back into rotation as well! When the left side of the postcard is filled up with the names and cities of those that have received the postcard, the last person will stamp your actual postcard and send it back to you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IMPORTANT:

1.) Please don't send more than 3 cards per round. Hang on to the extra ones and send them in following rounds. If you have too many, please contact me.

2.) Do not ad a new card as long as you still have a card to send out that belongs to someone else. If you do receive a newly started card as an 'extra' card, please let me know.

3.) Before sending out the cards to the next person, do check if the cards belongs to someone who is still participating. If they are not, please contact me about it.

4.) If you decide to stop the swap, please contact me so you can send your received cards to me and I can keep them in rotation.

5.) Do NOT send the postcard back to the original owner until the left side of the postcard is completely filled unless instructed otherwise. CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT SENDING YOUR PARTNER'S CARD BACK TO THEM AS PART OF THE SWAP ROUND YOU'RE ON.

6.) Do not destroy, bend, write on the front of, or ANYTHING else that destroys the integrity of the postcard. Treat the postcard how you would want yours treated.

7.) Do not send huge cards! It requirers extra postage!

8.) Each time you receive a card and you will send it on, write your name to it. Sometimes it happens that you receive a card which has your name from a previous round. Please sign it again. It simply shows the way this card has travelled around the globe, sometimes back and forth betwee the same country and even the same person. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well-established folks ONLY (50 or more Type 2/Type 3 swaps completed) and I will ban if I feel that you may be a questionable swapper. I want to do my best to ensure that everyone receives their postcards back. So don't join if you don't think you can commit to it for the long haul. I will be checking EVERYONE'S profile and will ban anyone that I feel like. Thanks and happy swapping!

When sending postcards please make sure the recipient has not already signed it. I received one postcard that I had already signed five swaps ago.

I received a postcard for Round 2. So now I keep it and wait for a new address? It's my first time (can you tell?) Thx

mcovey 07/ 8/2020 #

@ch23 yes you wait for next round and sign up for it and the card or cards continue on until they are full of names and then when it gets full that person sends it home to original person .

Not sure why these are always so stretched out, but I cannot see everything to read it all. Nor does it show who the coordinator is to ask Q’s...

If possible, I’d like to find out the following please:

  • As a newbie, how long does one standard 4x6” PC typically take to “fill up” in this swap series?

  • What does each person write on the card exactly? Lastly, if each person is to simply write the Date & their real or user Name only, should the left side of the card have columns to fill in drawn/printed?

Thank you in advance for sharing.

These always look like fun swaps!

I started a postcard for my grandson Ethan. It is a Pokemon postcard that I printed from the computer. If anyone has it please message me as Ethan has moved and the address is no longer valid.

Thank you!

CookieMomster78 Hi there. I cannot say how long it takes for a card to come back, I have ones that have been floating around for over a year and I've gotten a couple back after a year. So it's hard to say. As what to put on. The round number, my name, swap bot name, my city, province, country name and date. I try to print small so as many names can get on it. I do love this swap and it's interesting to see where the card has been at. Watch that you are not sending it back to a person who has already signed it, hold it back till the next round. Hope that helps you.

I'd like clarification about this.

I asked the swap coordinator (it's been over a year ago) about a postcard that I had received that I already signed and she told me then to go ahead and sign it again. Otherwise if we are making/sending new cards all the time, then the ones we have are taking a long time to fill and be sent home.

Now I see people are posting in the comments NOT to send postcards to someone if they had already signed it.

Which is it? And maybe something in the swap description to address this would be helpful

Thanks!

Sorry for not reacting on the comments, I had a lot on my mind because of the Covid.

The reason we write our names on the card, is to show which way the card has travelled. If this means the card will be signed TWICE by the same person (in different rounds), is doesn't matter, please write your name again as this is the way the card has travelled!

Added to thw swap:

8.) Each time you receive a card and you will send it on, write your name to it. Sometimes it happens that you receive a card which has your name from a previous round. Please sign it again. It simply shows the way this card has travelled around the globe, sometimes back and forth betwee the same country and even the same person.

@mdkrouwel - Thank you for the clarification.

Now hopefully PC will make it home to their owners sooner!

PostMuse 07/26/2020 #

I did not get a card to send along in the last round and the person sending it to me has been fully suspended. I will start another of my own cards to send in next round. I would like to send mailart of my own. It is postcard size. Hoping this is okay. @mdkrouwel

KarlaKC 07/29/2020 #

I have to say I was so surprised and excited to receive my traveling postcard from Round 22 today! I sent it off in February 2016 and today is July 28, 2020. Thank you to whomever found this and sent it HOME! The last signature was from Sofie in Belgium @ashanti2406 I think that's her user name. Not sure about the numbers. However this was postmarked in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Whomever sent it on, THANK YOU! it's one of the few I've ever received back from these Adventures. It inspires me to do another one! 😁💕

@PostMuse that is fine!

@KarlaKC that is awesome to hear! 4,5 years and finally it came back!
