Junk Journaling friends!!! Let's help each other collect some nice ephemera for personal junk journals. This is the second round of these over the summer so that we can slowly put together a cool journal that can be used to hold family recipes, photos, journal entries or favorite Covid memes. Whatever you decide! 2020 is only half over and there is still a chance to salvage it and make it wonderful. To participate in the swap..... in the comments below you can share any particular information to help your partner better pick out what junk journal embellishments to send you. You will send to 3 partners one regular sized envelope that you only need to fill with at least 5 items for their junk journal. So if one of your partners says they want to have a floral themed junk journal you could send them..... (a flower postcard, floral stickers, some scrapbook paper scraps with patterned roses on them, an old time photocopy of a letter and floral ribbon). JUST MAKE IT HAVE A LITTLE VARIETY BY SENDING AT LEAST OE THING THAT IS NOT MADE OF STANDARD COPY OR PHOTO PAPER. Even though I am encouraging input from each of you in the comments... it is meant to help your partner choose things that you will be able to use.... but as long as they send at least 5 different pieces that could be used in a junk journal you should rate them a '5'.

I would love vintage/retro pictures and advertisements. If you live outside the USA then any ephemera from your country.... food labels, magazine covers, ads, foreign language anything.... postcards new or used.

In my junk journals I chronicle the 'every day' as well as milestones, holidays etc.. it's a basic memory catch-all for me! I would LOVE some vintage ephemera and/or local to your area! I love found items, old recipes, vintage cards, postcards, letters, book pages, travel related ephemera, tickets etc.. love all those things!

I use my junk journal as an everyday diary/smash journal. Love variety and small flat items (on my walks I try to grab flowers that have fallen from trees - just anything that adds so much to my journals).

music/song notes paper, recipes paper, scientific paper to tear and use... die cuts of floral or nature stems/leaves... die cuts of butterflies, dragonflies... washi that are solid colors (sparkly is fine)... vintage craft paper... blank postcards that are fun/interesting/different

I’ve been gathering materials for a personal journal and have been looking for mushrooms, faeries, elves, woodland creatures, etc., so anything like that would be rad, but I’m open to anything!

Any botanical, dragonfly or cosmic theme. Wax seals, stickers, washi, anything any shade of green. Napkins.

I have several junk journals with different themes: travel (tickets, maps, photos of landmarks/sites, transportation, etc), postal (mail, postage, correspondence, typewriters, pen & ink, mailboxes, post offices, etc), space / galaxy / astronomy, and vintage.

I also keep a fauxbonichi journal - smash / glue book - planner so symbols of 2020 current events (COVID pandemic, face masks, BLM, SpaceX Crew Dragon, Sahara Sand, Australian bush fires, etc) -- as factual as possible without opinion or political spin.(I don't have a color printer so it's hard to get images of events to glue into my smash book planner).

Other items I like are tickets (travel / transportation, events, admission, etc), maps, playing cards, postcards, game pieces, (non-English) languages, trees, butterflies, dragonflies, zoo conservation animals.
