Description:

NEW Rule: Do not send any of the Speedy Found Image ATCs--the ones that are simply an image pasted to a piece of cardboard. They're not true ATCs.

Have you received ATCs that don't fit into your collection? Have you made a batch of ATCs that you'd like to trade with others?

Send a minimum of 6 ATCs to your partner. The ATCs can be made by you or cards you've received from other swaps. SENDER'S CHOICE!

IMPORTANT: DO NOT send your partner an ATC made by himself/herself.

You must have a 4.95 rating to join, no unexplained 1s or 3s. You must have completed 20 type 3 swaps.

Please be sure to add sufficient postage to your envelope! One stamp generally won't cover 6 ATCs, and bulky embellishments require additional postage, as well. When in doubt, take your envelope to the post office so they can help you determine the correct postage.

Well, Im back and this makes me sad to see found image ATCs arent ATCs. I used to host a swap for those. =(

@Fry -- I mostly agree with @Allegrae that the Speedy Found Images are not true ATCS -- based on Stirneman's conception of this medium as working with original work-- but it would be fascinating to discuss the conceptual basis for Found Image swaps in terms of Modernist conceit that originality no longer exists. (When I used to participate in such swaps, it was always with an eye to curating and cropping to add my own perspective on someone else's work. I was always disappointed none of my trading partners did.)

I agree, there were some I received where the image wasn't printed very well, or it wasn't sturdy and trimmed to the card. Not all magazines are equal as far as this goes. I subscribed to Smithsonian and Discover and found that images of germs or cells could look really cool... oh well. Plus, I couldn't resist making myself some from my favorite artists. I really shouldn't have commented but I cant delete it so here we are. =) Ive moved on! lol
