Description:

This swap is all about creating your own collage papers. Sometimes you just can't find what you need in the store so you have to make it yourself.

Create 5 different pieces of pattern paper, 5" x 7" in size (or larger). You can paint, use stencils, make gel prints, use spray inks, draw, print digital creations, rubber stamp, marble, Citra-Solv Nat Geo pages....

Please use at least 2 techniques to make your paper set a little more interesting (example: 2 rubber stamped, 3 gel press).

The paper used can be lightweight printer paper on up to lightweight cardstock as far as thickness goes. We're creating papers that can easily be incorporated/ layered into collage/mail art, not making sturdy backgrounds.

Don't forget to mail in a creative envelope - decorated or handmade from decorative paper.

Besides the width and thickness references above, are there any limitations on what we can use for our paper base? For example, is A kraft bag ok? Old ledger paper?

No limits besides things that would be difficult to work with, such as tissue paper. So paper bag, old ledger paper, book pages, notebook paper....those are all good.

What about mailing - can they be folded or should they be mailed flat? (I personally don't mind folding, creases add character to collage...and they will be torn/cut up anyway.....but just checking) - Thanks!

If you stick to 5"x7" they can fit easily in a 6x9 without being folded. If you go larger than what can fit in a 6x9, you could always ask your partner what they prefer....

I chose 5"x7" as a minimum because I figured on making full pages and cutting them in half (keeping a half for myself and sending the other to my partner).
