Description:

Did any of you know that October 15th is National I Love Lucy Day? Well, yes it is! Who loves Lucy besides me?

National I Love Lucy Day gives you the opportunity to .... you guessed it......watch “I Love Lucy”!

National I Love Lucy Day is a holiday that’s observed on the 15th of October and honors “I Love Lucy,” a show that many people consider to be one of the best TV shows of all time. For people who might not know much about this television program, it was a show that originally debuted on October 15, 1951, and starred Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, William Frawley, and Vivian Vance. It was one of the first scripted TV shows performed and filmed before a live audience, and it was the most-watched TV show in the U.S during its first four seasons. It’s a show that’s been forever preserved in the history books and is one that people might want to check out on this holiday.

We couldn’t uncover the history of National I Love Lucy Day, so we thought that we would instead cover the history of I Love Lucy instead. This show first aired on CBS on October 15, 1951. It starred Lucille Ball, her real-life husband at the time Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley.

The show followed the life of Lucy Ricardo (played by Lucille Ball). This character was a middle-class housewife living in New York and who often concocted schemes with her friends Ethel and Fred Mertz—often to hilarious results. Most of her schemes were her various attempts at becoming a part of her husband’s Ricky Ricardo’s (played by Desi Arnaz) nightclub routine, mingling with famous people, or trying to become a part of show business. This show ran until May 6, 1957, and there are a total of 180 episodes.

If you want to celebrate this holiday, then all you need to do is to sit down and enjoy some episodes of I Love Lucy. This show can often be caught on one of the various streaming services, or if you feel really dedicated to the show, you can buy episodes online. While you’re enjoying this holiday, be sure to use the hashtag #NationalILoveLucyDay on your social media accounts to spread the word about this holiday.

Next onto our swap:

Post THREE (3) pictures and/or gifs to each of your THREE (3) partner's profiles with the theme "National I Love Lucy Day" and/or Lucille Ball. The pictures that you choose may be the SAME OR DIFFERENT between all of your partners. Please choose pictures that you think THEY will enjoy!

Only people with well filled out profiles may participate in this swap. I will be checking the night before partners get assigned.

If you get 3 pictures from your partner on "National I Love Lucy Day" and/or Lucille Ball you have to rate them a 5. The heart on the rating is for if you like what they sent.

To leave a photo on someone's profile use this code ! [ ] ( Put image address here ) With NO spaces & paste the picture's link between the curved parentheses.

Practice on your own profile first to be sure it looks good because you can easily delete there.

Pick images that are size 300 wide or smaller to be sure they fit. I go to Google images to get my pictures.

Hover over images to see their size because there will be some larger sizes there too. If you really like something click on it and go to the words SEARCH BY IMAGE and click on that. THEN go to the word SMALL and see if there is one 300 size. There are other tricks in the group thread; AN EASY way to get a small PIC from a BIG one;-)

You can find moving pictures at http://giphy.com/

Please write the TITLE OF THE SWAP ON YOUR PROFILE DECO MESSAGE too! This makes it easier for partners that are in a lot of these swaps to rate it.

Any problems, feel free to contact me.

I want to thank @anrtist for allowing me to borrow SOME of her wording.
