Deco - Collaborative Booklet #334331

There's something rather satisfying about making a little blank booklet and sending it to another person to fill a page with interesting drawings, mixed media and illustrations. Eventually, after it gets around to enough folks, you end up with a booklet of creativity.

Send a new or established art-style deco to one partner.

If established, check to make sure the deco isn't made for or by; or previously signed by your partner. .

Regional: USA/Canada

Must be in bound booklet format. (A simple string binding between 2 holes in the spine is the most popular method.)

Lettermail size. If it requires more than normal lettermail postage check with your partner to see if they are willing to deal with the extra cost.

Only 1 deco is required. If you want to send your partner more than one deco check with them to be sure they are OK with more than one.

What is a deco?

A deco is a handmade bound book of a few pages. It is passed from swapper to swapper. Each person that receives the deco will decorate one page according to the theme of the booklet and put their name on their work.

Examples

If you are making a new booklet...

• Decorate the cover. The cover should be neatly made, similar to making an ATC or handmade postcard.

• The booklet should have a spine. Secured down the middle.

• Here's a tutorial for an easy 3 hole pamphlet stitch binding

• Lettermail size. No larger than a 5" x 7"

• A small number of pages - 1-3 pages folded in half and bound down the middle makes 4 to 12 pages to decorate. The fewer pages the more likely you'll get it back within a year.

• On the back cover include your username, your email address, and your mailing address. If you don't want to include your mailing address write "Email me for my current address when this booklet is full."
