National Cat Day 2023 is coming! National Cat Day is Oct. 29th in the USA. It was invented in 2005 as a way to bring attention to the need for spaying/neutering pets and how many linger in shelters.

For this swap, you have 1 partner in the USA. Fill an envelope as close to 1 ounce as you can. 1 ounce = 1 stamp. Please weigh it.

Inside, fill it with cat-themed items! Die cuts, cat washi, stickers, stationery, cat memo pads, etc. You can also send a note about your cat(s,) photos, and more. Any colour cats are welcome.

Because this is a slightly more involved swap, there are some restrictions. NO non-sends or 1 ratings in the past 6 months. Must have 10+ type 2 swaps completed.

Do you know the ESA laws in your state? They could help you or a friend adopt a cat. October is a particularly horrible month for black cats. I have heard, with my ears, an actual adult voice their nasty opinions on whether black cats should live. A grown adult, in public, thinks that seeing black cats will bring them bad luck.

If you do not know ESA laws in your state I encourage you to look them up. Every state is different. An ESA is an emotional support animal, which is different from a service animal. A service animal is trained to do a specific task, like dogs who sense low blood sugar or who help navigate. ESAs provide a therapeutic value. In Florida, an ESA cannot leave your home; only SERVICE animals can. However, an ESA is legally medical equipment. We DO have to pay for maintenance (vet checkups, flea meds, etc.) and there is a limit on number of pets. With certain documentation, a renter does not have to pay pet fees for an ESA in Florida.
