Description:

Do you ever find yourself stuck deciding what to photograph? Or getting into a bit of a rut with your photography?

For this challenge, we are going to place some limitations on what we can shoot, and force ourselves to think creatively.

We are going to limit ourselves to shooting in ONE location and ONLY for 20 minutes.

Step 1: Choose a location for your challenge. I think outdoors is probably easier although you could do this indoors if you wanted to.

It doesn’t need to be somewhere exotic or even incredibly interesting - in fact, the simpler the better. Some examples would be your back garden, a small area in your local park, your driveway, an area of the beach or even a small side street.

If shooting indoors, stick to one room in your house.

Keep it fairly small. The goal of this challenge is to see all the possibilities in a single location.

Your location also doesn’t need to be somewhere new, in fact it will be more of a challenge if you are in a location that you shoot in quite often!

So the first rule of the challenge is that you stay in that one location (or one small part of that location if it is somewhere big like a long stretch of beach!) for ALL 10 photos.

Step 2: Set a time for 20 minutes.

Step 3: Then start shooting! You have 20 minutes to take your 10 pictures.

Each of the 10 pictures should be unique and different from the others.

So: one location, 20 minutes, 10 unique photographs.

Although each photograph needs to be unique, each one does not need to be of a different subject. So for example if you are at the park and you see some pretty flowers, you could take a photograph of one single flower from above, to a group of flowers, before lying down on the ground and shooting them below, or photographing along the whole length of the flower bed.

Email the 10 pictures to your partners. Along with them, send a message about the experience. How did you find it? Did it kick-start your creativity or was it frustrating? Is it something you'll do again? Was there a particular reason you chose that location?

The sign up date is a few weeks away but you can do your 20 minutes whenever you want. But no stash pictures for this challenge -- all of the shots you send need to be taken during that 20 minute window.
