Do you HAVE to rate a heart for extras?

Why would you not want to rate a heart for extras? It is extra and above and beyond.

3.What are hearts and how do I give them? If someone sends you an extra special swap package that far exceeds the swap requirements, you can give that person a heart. The option to give someone a heart only appears when you give them the highest rating ("5 - I got my stuff and it met posted swap requirements"). Under this rating option a check box will appear that you can mark if you want to give a heart. You do not have to give anyone a heart just because you gave them the highest rating. We suggest that you reserve giving hearts to those swappers who you think deserve even more than the highest rating (more than 5 points). The number of hearts a person has collected will be shown on their profile page next to their average rating. Lots of hearts indicates a very special swapper!

Please never think that just because someone tossed extras in means you have to give them a heart. A heart is YOUR choice 100%. Rate on the actuall swap please.

i have already spoken with rachael about this and she and i are working together to get the problem solved. also i have planned on sending this swap as i already got mine from my partner. the deadline to send is the 11th not today!

i have heard that ladydy5 told fourohfout to not send to me but, if that is the case i have the right to give a one. i am mailing to both my partners like i planned on. and expect to recieve 2 as well. i can still rate as rachael is giving me a chance to start on swap bot again when i send everything out i owe. so fourohfour you are to send to me as well. just because im parcially sus is because rachael is helping me. i can still rate. and no i will not be giving ones unless i do not recieve

Okay kawaiifriend, maybe the word "definitely deserves" is a little strong. It is how you personally feel about giving hearts. Some swappers go out of their way for their swap and its obvious. Do what you think is worthy.

I clicked sent, I only sent to tyingknots, and not yet planter because I have not heard from her. I told planter to let me know when she was rated for this swap, and she has not yet let me know.

@planter you posted in the comments that you sent your package on 06/30/09, you marked it sent on 07/10/09, you pmd me on 07/19/09 that you were sending it out the next day.... it is now 07/29/09 and I still havent received anything...... You sure know how to give the run around, huh !!
