Description:

Here's another round of diary postcards, with a slight change to make it less costly especially if you have an international partner....

For this swap you will have 1 partner, and you will send that partner 7 postcards. On each postcard you should write a diary-type entry.

Write your first card on Sunday 8/23 and then write one a day until your last one on Saturday 8/29. At the end of each day, give yourself some time to record the day's events. What did you do that day? What did you think about? Did something make you especially happy or especially unhappy? You can write anything along these lines, as long as you're giving some sort of view of your day. The next morning, pop that postcard in the mail, and write the next card that evening. Repeat until the week is out! (Since there's no mail pick-up in the US at least on Sundays, the Saturday postcard will have to be mailed on the following Monday.)

If you don't have access to a mailbox every day, you can still join: write a card a day and mail them in batches when you visit the post--just be sure that all 7 cards are mailed by Monday 8/31.

And here's the change in case your partner isn't in your country (or even if they are): feel free to send a number of your postcards together in an envelope. You can probably get 4 in one envelope and 3 in another--that way you only pay postage twice. Of course, you don't have to do this; you can still choose to send each postcard separately, but this gives you another option if you'd like. It's up to the sender to decide how they want to send their cards.

Types of postcards sent are the sender's choice. Both commercially produced cards and hand-made cards are fine.

Other details: 1) This is an international swap. 2) No unrated swappers for this one; sorry. 3) Swappers with a rating below 4.98 or a profile that may cause concern will be dropped before partners are assigned. If there's something on your profile that you think might raise eyebrows, please PM me in advance.

I've done a couple of these. They were fun. Course, I hardly ever do anything exciting, so my cards seemed kind of boring to me. But it was still a fun swap.

Hello, Deb--To me, the beauty of the swap is that reading about someone else's life--their routines & activities--is intrinsically interesting, no matter what....

I have done one of these and loved it. The beauty was the same for me Beckra, getting a look at someone else's day(s).

I loved the last one we did!! I received postcards from my swap partner while she was on vacation in a state I've never visited...so interesting!!!

As a newbie I cant sign up for this, but it ´sounds fun. I already do diary postcards when I am away and then give to my kids when I get hope. Good luck with the swap and hope to be able to participate next time.
