Description:

With the last book in the Harry Potter series coming out next month, people are getting excited!

In this swap, we will read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

When you're done, write a book report/letter and send it to your partners via email or snail mail (ask your partner for their preference). Talk about what you liked about the book, what you didn't like, what surprised you or what guesses were confirmed. If you want to go into themes that span the series or any other sort of in-depth analysis, feel free - but this is not required for the swap.

Since no one wants their book spoiled by knowing how it ends, be sure to clearly label your email message in the subject line with the word SPOILER so your partner will know not to read your message until they have finished the book.

If you are sensitive to spoilers - use your best judgement. If you are the type who will really have your reading experience ruined by reading a spoiler, best to not open any messages from your partner on this swap, whether they contain a spoiler warning or not.

Happy reading, and have fun! All are welcome to participate. Thanks to pandagirl for the inspiration for this swap: http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/4416

I know some people will be "hot to trot" and share their reactions to the book, so I will do my best to get the partners assigned quickly!

Good to see you're excited, Elizabeth! :)

33 days to go! LOL, I'm a dork. I'll be buying the book at midnight.

KnittingCateling 06/29/2007 #

Anyone going to a midnight party?

3 weeks to go!

Pink 07/15/2007 #

Our books don't go on sale at midnight in Australia:( We have to wait until 8am.

But I guess with the time difference it would still work out sooner.

Oh, just thought I'd mention that I'd prefer to get my letters via snail mail rather than email so I can put them aside until I've finished the book rather than email. I get a lot of junk email and spam in my email inbox and if I'm trying to put something aside until later I tend to lose it.

Of course if postage is a really not an option for you than email will have to do :)

Omi 07/19/2007 #

I'd prefer snail mail as well, to recieve and to send, for the same reason. I know I'll have the book finished... ridiculously fast- so it would be safer for me to send out reviews via snail mail!

knitnerd 07/20/2007 #

I would actually prefer to recieve an email, though Ill be more than happy to send out snail mail to my partners. :) Only hours away until I get that book in my hands. Yay!

KnittingCateling 07/22/2007 #

I would prefer to receive your book report via email but PLEASE for the love of anything, mark it as a spoiler. I can't even start reading until Monday evening.

HeideC 07/22/2007 #

I would like mine as an email.

user8964 07/22/2007 #

Email or snail mail is fine with me although I prefer reading long missives on paper. It's easier on the eyes. ;)

Virginia 07/22/2007 #

I prefer snail mail, but if that's a problem I'll just print your email.

MAM 07/22/2007 #

Please send mine via post. If you write more than two feet of parchment's worth, and you'd have to spend more on an owl than normal or what you'd prefer to send it, go ahead and email it, but mark it as a SPOILER and try to wait until closer to the send by date to send it.

I probably won't even buy the book until next weekend myself, if I can find a place with them in stock. ;D I'm still hurridly re-reading all the old books (because I'm a dork that way) and should be ready to tackle the new one in the next two weeks.

pandagirl 07/22/2007 #

I prefer to send a letter. I am will accept either snail or e-mail. I'm halfway thru the book. :)marie

browneyedgirl 07/22/2007 #

Well since owl post is out of the question...I'd really like mine by snail mail - something to look forward to. I'd like to send my book reports by snail mail as well. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

user7641 07/22/2007 #

I prefer snail mail but I won't complain about email. Snail mail is just more fun and personal!

user8936 07/23/2007 #

I'd rather get anything via e-mail, since I will be away on holidays soon.
