Description:

Hi, welcome to my first swap ever! I hope you join me on this! :)

As a paper crafter, I love using old book pages on my cards or scrapbook projects. I always try to use damaged books because I am a huge book lover too! Not a wrecker! :) However, I love the look and feel of an old bookpage or an illustration on my project. This always leaves me with 'the other pages' which are cute too. This easy swap is all about them.

Send 4 vintage (pre -1980's) illustrated pages (at least two (2) from children's books) to ONE partner. The rules:

  • Four pages minimum
  • Only illustrated pages
  • Pages can be folded to fit in the envelope but must be complete pages and torn out gently!
  • A maximum of 2 pages from the same book.

Newbies are welcome with a filled out profile. Other members must have a rating of 4.8 or higher. No unexplained 3's or 1's. If you don't meet these requirements I will have to remove you from the swap, sorry.

Please no flaking! This is a very easy swap (no work, low postage) so everyone should be able to send in time. Please send something that you would like to receive yourself.

This swap is international. Feel free to send bookpages in any language. :)

I do the same thing. :-) What a great swap! I don't have any children's books, though. Are you going to do a more general one after this one?

Oh, no kids books here, either!--I'd join another version of this swap, too! I have tons of vintage pages torn out when altering old books. Some illustrated, most just text. I use them for filler and backgrounds.

Thank you for the comments! I numbered this swap '1' and after this we can do a more generic one!! Great idea!

Oh this sounds so wonderful too me.... I LOVE childrens book illustrations. This swap would be quite perfect to me... But, unfortunately, I am not allowed to join, because I do not have any ratings, yet... :( Perhaps next time! :) Have fun, everybody! I am sure you will!!!

This sounds really great ! i've been picking up childrens' books at our local secondhand store and have some nice ones to swap. Mine are in dutch, though ;-)

marliese 09/17/2009 #

LOL, so are mine, Moose! :D

Ogma 09/17/2009 #

Ah! Children's books in Dutch. Fantastic! I love old books, love children's books, and love text in languages other than English. Hmm...maybe I will have to go find some books and join this one. ;-)

O yes Ogma, you should! I hope more watchers will join us! :)

I changed the requirements a bit... Please check the swap description again when you're already in. :)

Oho I have a collection of old kids books just for crafting. I am a newbie, as of this week so no ratings yet. Would it be ok if I still signed up?

Hi I just picked up some vintage childrens books the other week and was wondering what I was going to do with all the extra pages! This is a great idea but I am a newbie too so maybe next time I can join in :o)
