Five for Five Flash Fiction

Ready for some fun? For this swap, we will be writing a piece of flash fiction (a story between 750 and 1000 words). It needs a start and a conclusion. Send the same story to 2 partners. So here is the twist. There are 5 categories below. Choose one item from each category to include in your story. For example, you may want to choose number 3 from the category marked “Opening Line”, number 2 from the category marked “character names, number 5 from the category marked “Locations”, number 1 from the category marked “Items included in story”, and number 4 from the category marked “Closing Lines.” If so, then your story would be about Larry and Lester Loggenhammer, from Nome Ak, and include two cumquats, a mango and a rubber band. It would open with someone saying, “Take one more step, and I promise that you will loose a favourite appendage!” and end with someone saying, “Hey! This isn’t my underwear!”

Opening Lines 1 – “Stay out of arm’s reach if you want to live!” 2 – “Suddenly I realised with great regret, that I should have indeed listened to my mom.” 3 – “Take one more step, and I promise that you will loose a favourite appendage!” 4 – “OK, I think I have figured everything else out, but what are we going to do with the pantyhose, power cord and the live duck?” 5 – “Is it me, or does the moon look like it moved again?”

Closing Lines 1 – “I guess my passion for yard sales got the better of me this time!” 2 – “You can bet I will never do that again!” 3 – “I guess I can eventually get used to the tattoo.” 4 – “Hey! This isn’t my underwear!” 5 – “One more time, kid, for old times sake.”

Each story CAN include other characters, and other items, but does not have to have any more. Questions, PM me. The sign up will be kind of long, because we want as many people to sign up for it as possible. But the send deadline will be pretty quick there after, because you do not have to know who are sending to before you start writing the story. Have fun!
