Description:

This is a U.S. only swap. The only cost of this swap is the single postage stamp to send your envelope (just a regular letter envelope). This swap is open to anyone with a rating of a 4.5 or higher with no recent "no-sends". Newbies are also welcome, but must have profiles filled out completely ("completely" meaning more than a single sentence in each of the profile categories). You will have 3 partners. Send each of them a minimum of 3 DIFFERENT things, just be sure that you use only ONE stamp to send their envelope of goodies. The things you send can be new, handmade, or used (in good condition and use-able). Some examples of what you could send: drawings, stickers, gift tags, bookmarks, ribbons, an interesting magazine article, ephemera, a letter, scraps of fabric...whatever you can think of, that you think would be fun to receive. Items sent are senders choice, you are not required to read your partner's profile. Just send three different things to each partner (you are welcome to send more than 3 things, just try and keep to the guideline of a single stamp and a business/letter size envelope). In the past I've received great little tidbits for making collages in these envelope swaps (scraps of paper, ribbons, canceled stamps, etc) and other interesting little odds and ends. There is not a big amount of time for the send by date, as this is supposed to be a super fast swap (hooray for instant gratification!). Don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns. Also, please contact me if you know of any "flakers" signed up for the swap (it's an inexpensive swap, but still nobody likes to be flaked on!). Please be sure to rate your partners after receiving your envelopes (If you receive an envelope with 3 different items in it AND it has been sent out on time, then your partner has fulfilled the swap requirements.) DON'T FORGET TO ADD YOUR SWAPBOT NAME AND THE NAME OF THE SWAP TO YOUR ENVELOPE! Happy Mailing! ********************Attention Newbies!! Be sure your profile is completely filled out per swap requirements.
To do this you go to... 1. Profile 2. Edit Profile (link is next to your user name) 3. Personal (here there are lots of different sections to fill out).

what size envelope?

enakitty 11/ 3/2009 #

Just a standard letter envelope (I believe they are about 9.5 inches by 4 inches). If you want to use a different size, that's fine. Just keep in mind it should be mailed with a single stamp (so try to avoid manila envelopes or big mailers).

:)

I have to join. This is just in time for my birthday on the 17th:)

enakitty 11/ 4/2009 #

Happy (early) Birthday yomousey!

Apricorn 11/ 4/2009 #

Could I send more than 3 items?

Watching in the mean time =)

enakitty 11/ 5/2009 #

(Apricorn-what a cute user name!)

Yes, you can absolutely send more than 3 items! (I will be sending more than 3). Just know that you are only required to send 3 different items, so don't be disappointed if you send a big fat envelope and don't receive one in return.

Just try to keep to the "rule" of using only one first class stamp to send your envelope.

*****Also wanted to remind everyone that they do NOT need to read their partner's profiles, so you can definitely put your envelopes together as soon as you sign up for the swap (if you want to). So, everyone should be sending their envelopes out on time for this swap.

Apricorn 11/ 7/2009 #

I already joined, I expect to send my envelopes as soon as possible!

WOW-This swap is getting so big! Cool!

enakitty 11/11/2009 #

****************Just a reminder**************************

It's SUPER important to add your swapbot user name and the name of the swap to your envelope. Many swappers are in numerous swaps and if your envelope is not marked with this info they may not know what it's for or who to rate.

yomousey 11/11/2009 #

Thanks enakitty for the birthday wishes:)

After having a temporary brain freeze, or something, I found my partner's addresses and all are sent. The envelopes were a little fat, although not heavy. I am going to assume (with fingers crossed) that they will go with one stamp. I put return address labels on them though. It would be very embarrassing for my partners to pay postage due!

enakitty 11/14/2009 #

Just a reminder that Monday is the very last day to send swaps out!!! So if you don't get your swap out today it MUST go out Monday!! Thanks everyone!! :)

Ssusiesthimbles 11/14/2009 #

enakitty, JKupsh, and JS your envelopes went out thursday (11/12). It was my first swap...Yeah! They weren't heavy, but the items in two of the envelopes kept shifting making one side a little fat...lol so I put extra postage on them to be safe... ;0)

enakitty 11/14/2009 #

Can't wait Ssusiesthimbles! :)

SomeoneGingerly 11/14/2009 #

Yea Ssusiesthimbles, I had the same problem...the post office charged me extra. :(

fayefaye 11/14/2009 #

Blessed are the organizers that give newbies a chance...

SkippyMom 11/15/2009 #

@adobe - the basic weight for this size envelope is 5 sheets of paper [i.e. notebook or computer] for one first class stamp.

If the envelope is deemed too fat by the PO it may return to you to add more postage or it may be sent to your partner with postage due.

It is important to check you envies at the post office if you aren't sure. Just want to help because my PO can't make up it's mind.

In a swap like this it is best to leave it thinner than thicker because it won't go through the machine for a first class stamp.

Hope that helps.

I sent mine today and managed more than 3 but kept it flat because I hate my PO. :) Have a good swap.

enakitty 11/16/2009 #

SkippyMom-Thanks for the info! I will probably add that info to future swaps like this-very helpful.

enakitty 11/16/2009 #

*****************************LAST DAY********************************

Hi everyone! Just wanted to remind you all that this is the LAST DAY to send your swap out!!! PLEASE BE SURE TO MARK YOUR ITEMS AS "SENT" after you send your envelopes!!

(Newbies-use the link on this page to mark your items "sent")

B3ntButN0tbrok3n 11/16/2009 #

this was a great swap .. hope you host another round or 5 (:

enakitty 11/17/2009 #

Thanks Xx! I'm so happy you are having fun!

enakitty 11/17/2009 #

Shouldn't be long before everyone gets their envelopes from their partners. Please try and rate your partners promptly.

(Newbies, to rate your partners click the "Rate your partners and coordinator" link on this page. You do NOT have to wait to rate until you receive all of your envelopes. You can rate them as they arrive.)

Thanks to everyone for joining the swap. I know I enjoyed it and hope you did too! :)

flowerimpressions 11/17/2009 #

this was fun ! thanks I look for more!

SkippyMom 11/25/2009 #

I checked and two of my partners sent on Nov. 12 and one on the 16th - today is the 25th and I have yet to receive even one of the envies - although all of mine arrived and I have been rated.

What is up? I know one of my partners is notorious for marking sent and then sending later so she can sign up for more swaps - but this is silly - it shouldn't take 2 weeks for a flat, 44 cent envie to get to from anywhere [including AK & HI] as I have sent to far flung places in the US often.

Sorry, but I am sad. And I will apologize if the postmarks are the days they said they sent - otherwise I will have to rate 3s. I hate that, but I have no choice.

TastyTreats 11/25/2009 #

That happened to me too. I'm still waiting to receive, though all mine have been sent and received.

enakitty 12/19/2009 #

Have you guys received your envelopes yet?
