My son and I are fascinated with the Moon. And i thought it would be neat to do a Postcard swap with the Moon in mind. But with a little bit of a twist. Have you ever wanted to know what the moon you are looking at looks like to some one else in the world? So here is what I have came up with: On Dec.31st there will be a full moon, the perfect time to get a good pic of it. You will have to take a pic of the moon from your few point on Dec 31st. (since some may be unable to stand upright much less hold a camera steady that night) You can also take the Pic on Jan.1st. Then you will make 4 postcards with that pic and send it out to your 4 partners.1 post card to each of your 4 partners. You will need to write a note on your pc and tell what night and time you took your pics and where it was taking. I am having us all take our pics on the same days so that we can see what it looks like for others on the same nights. If you took a pic any old day it wouldn't be any diffrent than just looking at any other pic of the moon. This swap is some work so i will ban anyone who might flake.. I will be looking at every ones profiles as they join, If you have had bad swaps then you will not be able to join. When you RATE: you will be ratting on if you recived a postcard with a pic of the full moon and if they wrote you a note on the back. If that is what you have then they get a 5. **We are not drawing or painting the moon that we see, we are taking pics putting them on some stiff paper or cardboard and making a post card with it. The pic above is of a blue moon. The second full moon in a same month is called a "Blue Moon".. This one really looked blue! The one on the 31st of Dec. will be a "Blue Moon". As it is the second one in a month. I am sure there will be some moon "excpert" on here to correct something. If so that would be great. We just love the moon, from our back yard....

every time I try and take a picture of a full moon with my digital camera -6 year old hp. it comes out really really blurry. She refuses to be captured by me. I especially want to take one when the clouds are all lit up and ghostly. Any tips?

One of the things that I have done is to take a clear shot that is not so "CLOSE" up. Remember you can zoom in with your computer. The important part is that it is clear. This is something to remember in all digital pictures. Hope you get a good shot

I have thought that too. It will be a full moon for a few days, up to a week. So you can do it any day there is a full moon if need be. We have been getting some nice fews of it durning the Mid day here, it does have to be a night time shot. I hope you can join the swap. I think it will be fun.

I didn't get the photo I hoped I would get, but I did get a photo I was able to run with. I'm sending mine out with tomorrow's mail :-)
