Description:

I really enjoy keeping a journal, but have a hard time getting myself to sit down every day and write what happened. I've found that keeping a journal for a swap, and then sort of shipping your problems away, is very therapeutic, and also very fun!

For this swap you will be keeping a journal for one month and a half. I suggest getting a super cute journal with at least 40 pages. (80 counting the backs.)

In the journal you can write about...well, whatever you want! Talk about your day, reveal your hopes and dreams, try to squash you fears, whatever floats your boat. This journal is an extension of you, so get creative! Feel free to write poems or stories, add photos, make collages, doodle in the margins, whatever helps you express your feelings. I encourage you to paste in mementos from your every day life and alter the journal as you please, but these are optional. Please write at least 30-40 journal entries for the swap. What each entry consists of is up to you. This is the Harajuku Girls, so keep that in mind when you're altering and adding things!

Make your journal an inspiration to your partner! Add glitter, pages of fashion magazines, anything fun, colorful, and eye pleasing:) Your pages shouldn't really be blank..

You will also be including at least 2 extras with your journal that help your partner get to know you and fully appreciate your journal. Perhaps send a mix CD of your favourite songs, a piece of jewelry that you sell in your etsy store, your guilty pleasure candy bar, the lip balm you can't live without...get creative!

Everyone in the group with at least 10+ package swaps is welcome to join. This is a very heartfelt swaps and I'm sure all of sure will have trouble giving our journals away. That's how we'll know we did good:)

Please be aware when joining that you will be receiving a piece of someone else's life. They may have a different lifestyle than you and may express themselves using nudity, profanity, etc. If you are not comfortable with receiving something with potentially "adult" content, you might not want to join this swap.

This is the awesome journal and great example I received for the first journal swap we had from @secretterrabite ! Notice how it's very 3-D and has lots sticking out! Hint, hint

As far as the journal size for this, I'd say A5 or as close as you can get to it. We don't want a teeny journal!

Please message me with any questions.

Give it your all, and have fun!

You can get started now if you feel like you'll have trouble writing over the holidays.

I do hope to be able to stay with this swap...it will hinge a fair bit on my dad's health. It should be ok, but I may have to send late-ish...I dunno? I will stay signed up for now, and see how things are by the 15th, and if I stay signed up, I hope to have an understanding partner whom I will stay in touch with about how thigns are going.

Are we allowed to wreck and decorate a journal? :)

Reilo 11/26/2009 #

Also, would it be possible to re-swap the journals for another swap later?? :D Like writing in them after we get them, passing around the journals?

provadia 11/26/2009 #

@Reilo - This swap is for a cute plank journal that we'll be filling in. Maybe we'll have a wreck a journal one!

Also, I sort have something like that going on in the forum, like a round robin journal. Once I get it back, I will host it!

I was in the first HG journal swap. And ended up being flaked on by @ATrueBella

provadia 11/27/2009 #

@lovetherain - Oh, I'm so sorry!:( That's horrible. Did you talk to @somethingblue about it? I don't know if I can angel it right now as I'm doing 4 journal swaps at the moment.

Arg, I can't believe someone is that horrible to do that.

whatsherface 11/27/2009 #

Alright you talked me into it :P I will get started right away!

TheJuiceBox 11/28/2009 #

I am just wondering...is it ok to handwrite and type our entries? Like a smattering of both? I'm hoping to find a book tomorrow while shopping to use for this, and begin working on some of my pages if possible :)

rockstar20h 11/30/2009 #

lovetherain I would to angel the first journal for you!! Please let me know!

What a fantastic IDEAAAAAA! I've been off SB for a while but I think this may be a great swap to "ease me back into swapping" :D

TheJuiceBox 01/21/2010 #

I just realized that my journal only has 36 pages :( I really hope that this is ok? The pages are all getting really well filled up though...

iamjenii 01/21/2010 #

@TheJuiceBox I added some entries on letter sheet stapled/taped/adhered to the full pages.

TheJuiceBox 01/26/2010 #

Okie, I will do that at the back then:)

Thanks!

provadia 01/28/2010 #

Hey guys, I moved up the deadline a bit since a few of you messaged me about extending it. I hope this is alright for everyone!!

bobilani 01/28/2010 #

Oh you are a life saver! I could definitely use the extra time!! Thank you so much :)

whatsherface 01/31/2010 #

No problem! Im making good progress at it but with work being so busy I have less time to work on it, so this helps me a bunch too! Thankies.
