Description:

For this swap you will be make a set of 6 handmade envies for 2 partners so a total of 12 envies.

The catch these envelopes must be made for old papers. Good paper to use are 2009 calendar, old cards, catalog pages, maps, old childrens books You are looking for glossy- thicker paper. Not newpaper it will not hold up in the mailing process.

1.Make them a useable size for mailing not to small or to big.

These are a lot of fun to make and super easy. Get creative and try something new while keeping things out of the landfill a win win for us all. here are a few links for some ideas to get you started patterns, http://familycrafts.about.com/library/projects/bl4.5x6envelope.htm http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/templates.htm

please mail in a differnet package (try using old packaging )so your partner can use all 6 envelopes.

4.9 or higher, filled out profile. 6 mailed/ rated swaps. please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I'm watching for now. Do we have to make a white spot on the envelope for addresses? I would prefer NOT to have it on those I receive. I like to make my own address labels and would attach this myself. Maybe others feel the same? And I don't use all these beautiful envelopes for swaps either. Thanks:)

I agree, people could probably add those themselves...

I agree and have chaged the swap to reflect the no address labels requried.

This site also has excellent templates - larger ones too and then some!

Does it have to be glossy paper or can it just be thick paper??

displacedamerican 01/16/2010 #

Thicker paper is just super,( I have used maps, book pages before) just not thin copy or newsprint. Good question.

Enjoyed doing this last time, but have to pass this time around. Enjoy! :)

Host: Thanks for removing the requirement to have white space this time around. I did do it last time, but some of them ended up just so lovely on their own, I felt the white space took away from that a bit. Thanks!
