This swap is for 1 ATC to 1 partner. The ATC must depict a kiss (smooch!). Not the musical group KISS. It can be a couples kiss (man/women ONLY), a child kiss, parent/child kiss, animal kiss, you get the idea:) Note: it does not have to be a lip to lip kiss. This is the month for love so why not show it with a kiss. No recent 3's and no 1's. Must have a well filled out profile - newbies welcome. I still reserve the right to ban.

Make a creative ATC - one you'd like to receive. Don't just send a simple image or slap on a sticker. Have Fun!

1 ATC - 1 Partner. This is a quick turn around swap.

nice idea but I won't join because of the specifics that it by a man/woman kiss. I find this discriminatory.

ElizabethObviously 02/ 9/2010 #

I agree. a kiss is a showing of love. 2 women can love each other as well as 2 men. It is discriminating against LOVE.

angkb 02/ 9/2010 #

Sorry you feel this way. I think anyone can love who they want but I don't want to receive a swap with 2 people of the same sex kissing. My swap - my rules.

angkb 02/ 9/2010 #

Love is universal, I agree. Like I said I'm not try to be discriminating against gay people and I'm sorry if you feel that way. I have 2 gay friends - one a man and one a women. What one does in their private life is their business, but this is the type of ATC I want to receive. Thanks.

Gofeen 02/ 9/2010 #

You say what one does in their private lives is their business so to me that shows you are not comfortable about it and want it hidden. I too think is discriminatory. But as you say it is your swap - - - - -

hollycm6 02/ 9/2010 #

That's silly. Anyone can host a swap. Just host it with the rules you want! The host does the work, the host makes the rules. Stop trying to bully and just host it the way you want. It's always more fun to have lots of different swap options anyway, and in my opinion swaps with a smaller number of participants run more smoothly and are more fun.

unusualdancingfaerie 02/ 9/2010 #

this is sexual discrimination would it not of been better to hold an open to all forms of kiss but to post comments in here about if you were dead against recieving a certain type not open yourself up to some horrid comments. i dont think people are trying to bully just to voice their opinions. it should also have been realised that a swap like this many people would find offencive. yes so they dont have to join but it does not take away the offence it courses.

angkb 02/ 9/2010 #

OMG - this is getting so out of hand. I'm sorry you are so offended about my Kiss ATC swap. I don't understand what the big deal is. We can host Christian swaps, Gay swaps, so what is the problem with a kiss swap that I request is between a man and a women. I know there are numerous people who are in relationships with those of the opposite sex. I have 2 dear friends myself that are. My own sister has even experimented, but for myself, I just don't want an ATC with this image on it. I'm not being prejudice, but when you host a swap you have every right to be as discrimative as you want. Love to and for ALL.

angkb 02/ 9/2010 #

And thanks for your support hollycm6.

JessiPancake 02/ 9/2010 #

This is not discrimination. Why is it okay to host swaps with gay/lesbian themes but not one with straight themes? I have no problem with people loving whoever they want to love, but that's totally a double standard. I see LGBT-themed swaps on here all the time. Nobody gets up in arms and says that is discriminating against straight people.

ElizabethObviously 02/ 9/2010 #

We understand that YOU do not want that kind of ATC but like someone mentioned..you could simply make it open to ALL forms. Just include in the comments section that YOU personally would not like to recieve an ATC of a same sex couple. Really pretty simple. You could even go as far as messaging the people who will be sending to YOU and asking them to please not send you a same sex ATC and then anyone who wants to join could. It is understandable that you wanted to make a swap that was about love but by adding the male/female only you made it a little about ...well I don't want to say hate...because I doubt you HATE same sex couples..but you made the dislike a bit more obvious than it could have been. Do not think people are trying to jump on your case. They are just hurt that you choose to exclude certain forms of art. It would almost be like saying "Make an ATC with a musician but no black ones."

VampiraGirl 02/ 9/2010 #

Pretty much everything is targeted straight people. That's why there are LGBT themed swaps. If you don't want to join LGBT swaps, you would stay away from them. If you don't want to join religious swaps, you would stay away from them. When there is a swap that just says kiss on it, most people look forward to it and want to join because they like being kissed or the idea of doing something with the kiss theme. It's the fact that she put A MAN AND WOMEN ONLY part that gets people. I was looking forward to joining, but I honestly felt slapped in the face when I saw that. Maybe she should have titled it The Straight Kiss ATC or The Homophobic Kiss ATC. Then, I would have stayed away from this swap! ^v^

unusualdancingfaerie 02/ 9/2010 #

i think the LGBT swaps are open to everyone they dont dictate what sexuality you have to be am i right?

VampiraGirl 02/ 9/2010 #

That's actually very true about the LGBT. It's there for EVERYONE!!!

Rubyfreckles 02/ 9/2010 #

I don't think the host has to make the swap any way except what they want. If you find it offensive, don't join. I personally have no problem with anyones sexual orientation, whatever it might be... However, I agree that there are gaylesbian swaps that must depict gay/lesbian couples (I have seen ATC swaps for such), and I've never seen anyone harrass those hosts for being anti-straight, or straight-ophobic.

RoseTinted 02/ 9/2010 #

yes they were flutter...LGBT pen pal swaps were for everyone, all invited to join...

Rubyfreckles 02/ 9/2010 #

Yes Rose, that's true... but I don't see where the host here has said gay/lesbians could not join?! The gay/lesbian atc swaps said "depicting a gay/lesbian couple", just as this swap says "depicting a straight couple"....

Rubyfreckles 02/ 9/2010 #

just want to note, I am PRO gay-marriage, etc... I think all love is the same :)

but i also don't think there is a thing wrong with this swap.

angkb 02/ 9/2010 #

EXACTLY - thank you Rubyfreckles.

JessiPancake 02/ 9/2010 #

Straight Kiss ATC and Homophobic ATC are two very different things. Just because she wants her kiss to be between a man and a woman does NOT make her homophobic! And I know the LGBT swaps are open to everyone. So is this one. Anybody can join. She's not saying you can't join if you're gay. But the LGBT swaps are themed. Why can't this one be? Why can't this be straight-only? I hate double standards. If someone were to make a swap to celebrate Black History Month that'd be great. If someone tried to make a swap to celebrate white people they would be called racist. That's what's going on here. I could go leave comments about all the LGBT swaps and call them straight-ophobic but that would be ridiculous.
And pretty much everything is targeted at straight people? Really? I haven't been on long but this is the first one I've seen that was straight-themed. I didn't realize all the recipe, ATC, postcard and sticker swaps I joined were targeted at straight people. I guess I'll have to read the descriptions closer.

VampiraGirl 02/ 9/2010 #

"I know the LGBT swaps are open to everyone" - then - "Why can't this be straight-only? I hate double standards" Humm, how do you feel about oxymorons?

"And pretty much everything is targeted at straight people?" yeah, pretty much everything in life not exactly swap-bot. Pay closer attention. You might find somthing that you didn't notice before.

VampiraGirl 02/ 9/2010 #

"Straight Kiss ATC and Homophobic ATC are two very different things" Also, I was just trying to make a point, as in, if this swap was called that, then I would stay away from it. Maybe you do need to pay closer attention? I'm just saying.

JessiPancake 02/ 9/2010 #

When I said "straight-only" I didn't mean straight PEOPLE only. I meant straight-themed. Just like when there is a LGBT swap it is LGBT-themed, not just for LGBT people. If she was doing a swap and saying "Sorry, no gay people allowed!" then yes it would be discrimination and she should be reported for it. But she never said anything like that. Maybe the people who are calling her homophobic are the ones who need to pay closer attention. I'm just saying.

Emzycal 02/ 9/2010 #

...Straight-ophobic? I think it would be heterophobic, surely?

hollycm6 02/ 9/2010 #

It is a ridiculously petty argument, and won't happen with a gay/lesbian themed swap here, because that is politically incorrect and considered bad form. Just have 2 swaps going, one for any kind of kiss, one not. What's the big deal? I have opened swaps before and been pretty offended by what was written, or thought, well that certainly lets ME out...but instead of griping about it I simply closed the swap info and didn't join. Why would I gripe about its requirements? I can start my own any time I want. So start another! I'm sure there would be huge participation in it.

hollycm6 02/ 9/2010 #

It would make as much sense for me to argue "Why can't I have the musical group Kiss in mine instead of a physical kiss??? I wanted them!! What do you have against my music??" Maybe there were Kiss fans who opened it up thinking " A Kiss swap!! Yay!! Oh, wrong kiss. Bummer." so... now they can start a rock ATC (with KISS, and not allow minerals...), or they can join this one ...

joytotheblog 02/10/2010 #

Hang in there angkb. You have every right to set the rules for your swap. Period. If somebody doesn't like it, tough.

Peacewytch 02/10/2010 #

LOL Just don't make an ATC with the guys from KISS kissing each other, and all will be well. :O)

hollycm6 02/10/2010 #

HAHAHAHAHA

Rubyfreckles 02/10/2010 #

LOL@hollycm6... a rock ATC for the band KISS that doesn't allow minerals... you just gave me a chuckle...

JohnnyDingo 02/10/2010 #

This is really very simple. If you like this swap and want to join, then join. If you don't like the swap and don't want to join, don't join. What could be simpler. It's all about choices. ... The swap coordinator DOES have the right to set the parameters of their swap. Everyone else has the right join or not.

Unmutual 02/12/2010 #

Swap coordinators have perfect right to set their swap perameters. That doesn't mean I can't be disappointed...

hollycm6 02/12/2010 #

There is another you can join, called kiss me ATC or something like that.

samjowers 02/13/2010 #

Thank you for the voice or reason...Hollycm6!

KarenFife 02/13/2010 #

Thanks to all of those who supported the one hosting this swap and her requirements. I'm joining in support of MY SWAP - MY RULES.

hollycm6 02/15/2010 #

Mine is done! I think it's cute. I hope whoever gets it does, too!

angkb 02/16/2010 #

Mine is ready too! I'll be sending out tomorrow:) Thanks everyone who joined me on this swap and for all your support! Hugs to all ♥
