This "swap" is a letter based swap for ladies over the age of 40 who are looking for genuine, sincere, long term pals....someone who will continue to answer your letter time after time. Alot of time when there are pen pal swaps, you are paired with someone who is so much younger and it can be difficult to find common ground. So if you are a more mature letter writer and looking for someone who will share your interests, please join! Letters can be hand written or typed, but please remember...this swap is for people who like to write more than just one page.

since this is international how do we know our pen pal will understand our writing ? how does that work ?

It may not ba as easy to relate to someone outside your own country, especially on topics such as happenings around the country, politics, etc.

Well, I think every person should be open to intercultural dialogue! If there are so many differences in personal opinions that cannot be overcome, then eventually the penpalling fades away anyway. I personally worry more about flat mail travelling quite long from one continent to another so the communication is not so accurate...

We can really never predict who will sign up or what their language will be. I assume that whoever signs up for this swap speaks English and knows that they will be communicating with someone who speaks that language.

@denisedecker58 - I'm not over 40 but I love this idea. I was toying with starting a long letter penpal swap myself. I WISH I was over 40 (yes, really) to participate. Most penpals I've been matched with are far too young even for me (nearly 30).

Hope you all have a lovely swap! I may use this as inspiration to start my own LLP swap!
