Description:

This swap should be tiny in price, but big in heart.

For this swap purchase some type of inexpensive small notebook, between 3inches x4in (7.5 cm x 10 cm) and 5 inx 7in (13 x 18 cm), although these are estimates. Please do not rate down based on size unless the size is just way off. Keeping this small for manageable postage.

A minimum of twenty pages of this journal must be filled in. I am putting prompts below. Use as many as you can. You do not have to limit yourself to one page for each idea. You do not have to use all prompts, and you are also free to add your own creative ideas instead.

At least 4 pages must be decorated some way other than just your writing. Anything goes...photos, collage, word art, drawing, painting, thumbprint animals, markers, crayons, colored pens, stamps you have carved (or just really love), even stickers IF you are doing something creative and artistic with them. Whatever. You are the boss.

As long as twenty pages are nicely filled, that is all that is required.

It might be wise to include your name and address inside the front cover, and the name and address of your partner, in case something happens to the mail... (I have seen strong packages that had been ripped open!). (Also, who knows... your partner might be inspired to write back!)

prompts

  • Write one page as if it were a ransom note... not necessarily ransoming something, but using media letters and words for your writing... from magazines, etc.
  • Create one page using junk mail.
  • Create one page using all (or mostly) one color
  • Cut out magazine pictures of things you would love to have or do if you won a large cash prize...a million dollars (or whatever your dreams require) (the preceeding ideas could also count as your decorated pages if you want them to)
  • Write an introductory letter
  • Fill one page with jokes
  • Write one page using mirror writing
  • Fill one page with favorite quotes
  • Fill one page with things you love
  • Fill one page with secrets (be careful!!)
  • Write about your favorite day or favorite childhood memory
  • Write about your family
  • Write about something you can see from your window
  • Write about your best or closest friend
  • Create a perfect day for yourself... describe it
  • Make a list of "either/ors" and circle the one that's you... for example, "tea or coffee", and I would circle tea. And black out coffee with a Sharpie marker!!! (jk) Coke or Pepsi, beer or wine, dogs ot cats, etc
  • Include one or more poems. These can be written by you, or by someone else
  • Fill one page with things for which you are thankful
  • Fill one page with books your partner must read, or movies she must see, or music she must listen to, etc
  • Tell about where you live, your immediate home, and your city, state, county, country, etc. You can cut and paste for this one if you need to. :)
  • Tell about some of your favorite family traditions.
  • What do you love about fall?

I am giving us six weeks to get this finished. But that doesn't mean you have to put this off. Start it now, and send it early!! If you sign up, you are committing to all of the above, including the send by date. By clicking "join" you are promising to follow through, and the integrity of swap-bot as a whole depends upon our individual honesty.

To join this swap you must be a member in good standing, and must not be behind in and tags, WTAs, or swaps.

Wow! On my watchlist :-D such a great idea!

Oh good! I wasn't completely sure about the length of time... but the pages are small, so really I think that will be plenty. Everyone, feel free to let me know if you think more time is needed. I was afraid if I gave any more time it might just be one more thing that gets lost in the summer shuffle. :)

Hi, Holly! I've caught up on swaps, as of today and will be finishing up the tags I owe by Thursday.

I can do this journal, but if you feel it necessary to ban me, I won't get all huffy! ;)

I've received permission from our host and my partner to send by September 15th due to health issues. She also gave permission for me to hit "sent" on this swap. I will come back, post, and readjust the sent date when I have.

Thanks, Holly! You Rock!
