Type:Type 1: Electronic
Last day to signup/drop:August 28, 2010
Date items must be sent by:September 4, 2010
Number of swap partners:3
Description:

Go outside and take two digital photos, one up and one down your street, road, lane, wherever you live. Email both these to your partners, just to give them an idea of what you see when you leave your house, trailor, apartment.

It doesn't matter if the view is of a serene country road or a busy highway. If you live at the end of a road and can't do a photo both ways, just send one photo of the scene down the road. If your photo shows high rises, desert, chicken farms or mountains, it is all good. Any time of day is also fine.

I will angel anyone who is let down, but warning I live in the most boring suburban street in the world.

And no, I don't live on this road in the picture but I do drive over it often.

I also live in a BORING suburban street!!

Kay 08/19/2010 #

I am so glad to know I am not the only one, but let's see if "boring" means the same thing in different countries. Lol.

suzib 08/22/2010 #

What about a photo of the street where you'd like to live?

Kay 08/23/2010 #

Now there is a swap for another day when I need cheering up. You set it up and I will be in.

theladylilac 08/23/2010 #

okay, so my street is literally like, 5 miles long may I choose any section of it to take a pic?

camelsamba 08/24/2010 #

ladylilac, I think the point is to show what it looks like just outside your door, but my opinion can of course be trumped by the organizer! :^)

I'll be sending 3 photos - we live at the top of a T intersection, and the view to the south is more lovely than the ones to east or west (especially in the fall, when the leaves are changing color, or after a heavy snowfall!).

flyawaycricket 08/24/2010 #

If we live in a condo... do you want us to take a pic at the entrance to the complex? i'm pretty sure you all don't want to see pics of a parking lot... right?

Kay 08/24/2010 #

Hi there,

Yes, the idea is just what you view from your driveway, entrance, whatever, no cheating and picking a nice piece of road. (Hopefully suzib might set up that swap for us) Although I accept that some of you may want to move along a bit and not show your true address in case I am a stalker, no problem, do that if you need to. I just want to know if your street is as boring as mine. I have dullness in both directions. Lol.

And there is nothing wrong with a carpark view, much more exciting than the traffic lights just along from me.

Hiya! I'm new to Swap-Bot, just signed up today actually. This would be a great swap start off with!

cleopatra 08/26/2010 #

Could we use Google street maps too ?

Kay 08/26/2010 #

I would prefer your own photos.

sherred 08/27/2010 #

hahahaa this is great ... i live in the hotttt desert & dont get to see other very often so this is nice.. just to my partner/// sorry lol its dirt hahah ty

Spelldra 08/28/2010 #

I just caught sight of this swap and thought it sounded great, so i've signed up :)

I will send 3 photo's if thats OK, as my street is around 2 miles long. There is a nice view in both directions, but its seen better from one direction where the rolling hills are higher up.

In the 3rd pic I want to take a pic from the back of my house as I live in a valley, the view is beautiful (I live in the Cotswolds, England)

acescorcio, your street is not boring at all. I loved looking at the pictures, thanks for putting them into the album. It's fun to see where other people live and how different it is.
