Description:

Hey There!

This is my first time making a handmade postcard and I thought it would be so much fun!

I'm making this international and newbies are included with no 1s or 3s.

You can usually purchase blank postcards at the post-office (that's where I got mine) and mine already had postage on them.

Please use your imagination and you don't have to be really crafty in order to join--just make it neat and fun!

Some ideas you can use: Paint, stickers, glue on graphics, collages, pictures that you've drawn, ect. The list is endless...just please make sure that whatever you do gets there safely.

It is your choice to send a written and stamped postcard or you can send you postcard in an envelope--either way give your partner a 5 if you get a hand-made postcard. I personally love giving hearts if it shows they put the time and effort into it, but that's totally up to you. Don't just slap a sticker on it and call it done. Contact me if you have any questions!

Last day to sign up is August 22nd. I will assign partners on August 23rd first thing in the morning. The last day to get your swaps out will be August 27th

You will have 2 partners so 2 handmade cards each. Please include the swap name and your user name! Thanks!

Are we allowed to send the postcards in an envelope?

I love to make handmade posties, but mine tend to be a bit "scrapbook" in style with bits that fall off in the post if they're not protected by an envelope.

Can we use a picture we have taken and add a quote?

scrapcowando 08/18/2010 #

Can we create the postcard with a picture of a place where we have been?

I am indeed a newbie and I tried to sigh up. Am I in??? How do I know when to send the cards and to who??

Thanks, Ingeborg

@flipot yes you can send them in an envelope @Vickyen yes that would be great @scrapcowando that would be nice but you might want to add a little more to it other than just a picture--like a quote or button or sticker..something to make it stand out a bit

@ingebietje yes you are in the swap.

Newbies are welcomed as long as they don't have any 3s or 1s. The program automatically filters out people that have those ratings. I've experienced flakers before and I'm trying to make sure this is open to newbies as well, but I'm trying to avoid flakers.

Great, I am as newbie ascan be but I'll try to do everything by the rules! Looking forward to sending and getting cards!

"You will have 2 partners so 2 handmade cards each" Can you clarify, does this mean 2 cards sent to each partner for a total of 4 cards made? or 2 handmade cards by each participant, 1 to each partner? Just want to be sure I'm sending the correct thing--thanks!

You hand make 2 postcards---send one postcard to each partner and you have 2 partners. So 2 cards. :-)

Okay, maybe we need better defined rules here. I received a PC that was a piece of scrapbook paper with two magazine cut-outs stuck on it, and the entire PC had scotch tape run around the edges? Did she run out of glue? I put a lot of time into the PCs I sent for this swap, and this was a big disappointment.

Ingebietje 09/ 8/2010 #

For me, as a beginner, it wasn´s clear whether a PC had to be single sided...

thebeholder 09/ 9/2010 #

I'm a beginner too, but you only needed to decorate one side of the pc and write a note on the other with their address and what not. @LindyLuLu I'm sorry that's what you received--I figured swappers would put some more effort into their PCs. I used scrapbook paper on mine as well, but I put buttons on it and whatnot.
