Fully filled out profile.

You will need to have a rating of 4.7 or more.

No no sends

No recent 1s

No excessive 3s as your partner would like to get their swap soon.

Also, please leave a rating; if you do NOT plan on rating your partner, please do not join my swap! I know I look forward to getting rated and so do others. People put time in to going out and buying you stuff and sending it to you the least you can do is rate them. So show them you appreciate them and rate them. If you do get something you don't like, you can not rate down for that. Ratings are for getting there on time and if they followed swap guidelines.!!!

If you do not receive, please communicate with your partner and your host. If you can not communicate with your partner and host at all and just go ahead and give them a 1 without trying, You will not be in anymore of my swaps, without giving your partner a chance to resend. Mail gets lost or takes longer if its International. Give a person a chance to respond, If not, There is no need to be swapping as you are bringing down ratings on a person that may not be a flaker because you decided not to communicate.Think about it you wouldn't want this to happen to you.

I will remove people, after last sign up day, so they won't be able to rejoin, So please do not drop out if you see anyone on here who doesn't fit into the guidelines. Also you are more than welcomed to pm about anyone you think might be a flake or a bad swapper:) Thanks:)

Does this include panoramic view postcards?? (really long ones)

DarkSkullMistress42 09/ 4/2010 #

Yes, it does.

tishous 10/23/2010 #

I thought this might be worth a mention: I keep getting oversized postcards from the US that only have to postage for a normal postcard (28 cents). Please remember to put a 44 cent stamp on these!

DarkSkullMistress42 10/23/2010 #

Yep post office considers it a letter.

mwquilt 10/24/2010 #

if its smaller in one direction than normal, but bigger than normal in the other direction, does that still count as over large?

DarkSkullMistress42 10/24/2010 #

I see nothing wrong with that, it still sounds over size to me.

mwquilt 10/25/2010 #

Ok..thanks. I signed up

If it is oversized (big, square -- not just panoramic) you need a bit more postage -- I think US 88 cents - so please check before you mail your PC. I agree with @tishous - I have paid a lot of postage due - even "regular" size PCs take 44 cents stamps.

If it's not even close to being 'honkin big' but it's still bigger than most postcards, is it considered oversized?

It's 12.5cm x nearly-18cm.

My honkin big one was an ad card for a quilt show.

I actually just sent one out, so I asked the price

44 cents to the U.S./U.S. Territories

75 cents to Canada and Mexico

98 cents to all other countries

the only time you may be charged extra if it's non machinable. That usually applies to the cards you fold over with a secret message. but most of the time you can just leave it open and it looks fine

and great idea !

DarkSkullMistress42 10/29/2010 #

papercaper if its bigger then a regular postcard, then that will work.

One addition to the above (correct) info about postage:

64 cents for non-rectangular PC's or letters to
the U.S./U.S. Territorities

Non-rectangular includes square. There are even special 64-cent stamps: one a dolphin, and one a butterfly. The cool thing about this, you can actually send a PC shaped like anything. I've sent rocketships, animals, you name it.

susieq11 10/30/2010 #

@melusina - thanks for the info! I knew it was more than 44 cents -- glad to know it is 64 cents!!

Faeorain 10/31/2010 #

Just a note, I checked the USPS site today, and for the United States, it says we are only allowed a 4 x 6 max size postcard to send internationally. AND...we are supposed to put 98 cents on it. It does not even give an international price for any other size postcard. So, now I am really confused because there seems to be such a variety of ideas on price, yet the USPS site itself states we can only send a 4 x 6 max :(

tishous 10/31/2010 #

You can send larger it just counts as a letter...as far as I'm aware, it's the same price (98 cents)

slamophile 11/ 2/2010 #

I just called usps and they said it was 44 cents for a 9x4 in. p/c. So if my partner gets postage due - it's their fault! - but - of course, let me know, and, I will reimburse postage.

area51ufo1 11/ 2/2010 #

@ melusina Ya those are the non machinable ones I was talking about.. Disneyland carries some awesome odd shaped ones.. but thanks for the exact price cause I wasn't sure how much extra they charged. They are always changing stuff urgh !

ladydy5 11/ 3/2010 #

Seems each p.o. Clerk has own idea on size. So, I will ask mine, stamp it and send it.

What exactly is an overlarge postcard? I got a 5" by 7."
